Perfect day at Cotopaxi! - This is a super fun, challenging, breathtaking private experience at Cotopaxi with an amazing and funny guide. We had Jorge all to ourselves, and enjoyed a beautiful ride through the back entrance of the park to the horse corral. We are not experienced horse riders and the horses were sweet and well cared for. Easy! We got to wear chaps! Enjoyed an hour riding through the grassland before coming back to head to the hike. We chose to take the steep trek up to the refuge which took about an hour. We stopped a lot and went slow. You definitely need to be in good physical health for this hike, the main issue is getting enough oxygen. We flew into Quito only 36 hours before and had very mild symptoms of altitude sickness. Jorge was super patient and let us take our time. At the top, we had hot chocolate, ate lunch, and enjoyed the view. The drive out of the park on the main road gave us amazing views of the mountains and we saw a fox and a condor! Plenty of opportunities for photos. Back at the hotel by 5pm. Helpful things to know: We stopped on the way out at a gas station and got coffee, water, and lunch. Coca candies and gloves were purchased at the entrance to the park. We stopped twice on the way for bathrooms and there’s one at the horse corral. Bring your own TP. You can leave extra stuff in the car during hiking and horses if you want. Jorge tells great dad jokes 😜 10/10 would recommend and book again. This is a small business that supports local families.Could not have been better!

Best trail ride and hike - This tour was one of the best i’ve experienced. It began when they picked us up on time, we stopped to buy lunch that we would later eat at the base camp. We arrived through the back entrance and saddled up for the horseriding. The horses each had a personality of their own. We rode through the park on what felt exclusive and like a fairytale ride. After, we drove toward where we would begin our hike. It was tough because of the altitude, but doable. Our guide was great at pacing us and encouraging us to finish. When we got to base camp, I felt so accomplished. We had cocoa tea and ate our lunch and then headed back down. We saw a cute and friendly fox on the way, and that concluded our trip! It was so memorable. Although I did get altitude sickness 2 days after (shocking), I would do it again! No regrets. Amazing trip overall!

Trip highlight - It can be so overwhelming to choose a tour when there are so many options online. Having wasted money on poorly organised experiences whilst in Quito, I’m so glad that we booked with Jorge. From the moment we hopped on the bus, I felt at ease and knew that we had booked with professionals. Jorge shared stories and information during the bus trip which added to the day for us. The horseback ride was a huge highlight for our family - it was so peaceful and the trail was incredibly beautiful. We didn’t want it to end. The day was topped off by hike to the refugio. Highly recommend.

Fun day! - This was a great experience. The horseback ride and hike with Jorge were terrific. The experince was worth the long day of travels. Jorge was very knowledgeable and friendly, the scenery was fantastic, and the horses were easy. The horses ride was about an hour, as was the hike, with lunch in the Refugio. There was ample time for photographs and Jorge stopped for us in the bus whenever needed. Definitely recommend.

MUST DO for Quito Travelers! - This was such an amazing/unique way to experience Cotopaxi National Park. The horse ride was well-coordinated, with chaps, poncho & helmet provided. The hike to the mountain base camp was challenging due to the altitude, but Dario stopped with me to every step of the way. Best tour guide on my trip, best tour experience on my trip! 10/10 recommend.

More than a tour - 100% recommended, an experience that Jorge makes you enjoy, learn and know more about culture. Riding is a unique experience. It's a different tour that they have to do.

Wow! - A great way to spend a day away from the city! Be prepared for clouds. Be prepared for beautiful scenery. Jorge was kind and handled all questions with ease. He ensured that we were safe on the hike up to base camp. Our horse guide also checked in often to be sure we were comfortable. What a great way to experience the beauty around Cotopaxi and the Ecuadorian culture.
