• Rila Monastery - The journey begins at 10 am with a pick-up from your location in Sofia. The drive to the monastery takes approximately 2 hours along a picturesque route.

Rila Monastery was founded in the 10th century by the Bulgarian Saint John of Rila, known as the miracle worker. It is the largest and most stunning Bulgarian monastery. The current complex was constructed in the 19th century.

Upon arrival, you will have 3 hours of free time to explore if you have chosen the driver-only option, or you will enjoy a guided tour plus free time if you selected the tour guide option.

The monastery also features several museums you may wish to visit, along with souvenir shops and a bakery.

During your free time, you should also take a lunch break. You can either bring your own food from Sofia, which is a great idea in the summer if you want to enjoy more time outdoors, or you can ask the driver to take you to one of the nearby restaurants.

• Boyana Church - If you have opted for the Boyana Church visit, it will be the first stop after the hotel pick-up. The church is renowned for its frescoes, which are over 800 years old, remarkably well-preserved, and predate the European Renaissance. The church is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Due to its small size, the interior visit is limited to 10 minutes. The entrance fee of 12 BGN per person is payable on-site.
