This tour offers an insight into local Latvian gastronomy, featuring an expanse of authentic local food items including meat, bread, cheese, fish, indigenous fermented vegetables, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, and confectioneries.
- Cancellations - please be aware that we have minimum of 6 poeple per tour to run. If there will be not enough customers - a day before the tour we will offer you another day of tour or a compensation.
- Tour is available for vegeterians, as about 70% of the food samples will be available also for you plus an extra vegetarian offer in one of the places
- Latvian cuisine is based on meat and fish, so if you do not eat either of it, you can still participate in the tour as 60% of the food will still be possible for you to try.
- Not recommended for vegan travellers, as only 40% of the food on the tour is vegan friendly.

We will be waiting for you at the Grecinieku street in the Riga Old Town below the sign 18 with a green box and the official Riga Guide sign on the neck of the guide. It can happen, that the guide is 5 min late, as is coming from the previous Old Town tour.

This was a great... - This was a great experience as far as food tours go. There was much less walking and much eating than on others I had been on. Being in the central market was great - I probably would have never tried the food there without this tour. The guide was fantastic - she was so enthusiastic about everything and really wanted to share her culture with us. The size of the tour was also very good. The most exotic food was dried pig snout if you're worried about not being able to eat some dishes (the snout was so delicious btw). Would recommend.

Fantastic experience, excellent guide! - We had a great 2.5 hour tour of the central market. What an incredible historic space! We were offered samples of chicken, fish, traditional pea dishes, picked vegetables, and sweets. Sampling was very well organised and sanitary. Even though we were part of a large group, 21 people, the guide kept the group together, and shared lots of interesting information about Latvian culinary traditions, as well as tips about where to buy food items and restaurants to try. An excellent introduction to Latvian cuisine!

Great way to discover Central Food Market - Guide was super friendly, very informative, and had a good sense of humour.
The market is a amazing place with so much to see. There were stories to go with each of the foods to sample too.

Fantastic introduction into Latvia - This is a must do to anyone coming to Riga. Our guide was fantastic and took through this giant market with ease and interesting knowledge of food, culture and traditions. There was so much food, definitely be recommending this tour.

Wonderful food tour - This is a must do in Riga, Guna is a wonderful host, very knowledgeable and a great sense of humour.
We were a small group, just 8 of us but she made everyone feel very welcome and individual.
We tasted so much, and there was a story for everything which was great.
Book ASAP!

Ok, but the group of 25 was too BIG - The meeting place was 500 meters from the market! It would have been easier to meet AT the market.
There were too many people (22) and you could not hear most of what was said.
The food samplings were: a smoked drumstick, raspberries, a shot of a local liquor, a bottle of water, grey peas and meat, a piece of candy, 2 pieces of cheese, 3 small pieces of bread with spreads (hemp, dried tomato, garlic/cheese, more cheese, pickled vegetables and fish with bubbly white wine, rye truffle and a danish pastry

Riga Market tour - Food tour is limited to Riga central market and food is directly from the market vendors.
Our group had 14 members and it was difficult to hear the tour guide, who refuses to repeat what she said.
Overall it was OK, cheaper than most food tours I have experienced. You get what you pay for.
