Joao - Tour Guide of the Year! - Joao was a FABULOUS guide! Well informed, approachable, full of great local folklore and just a joy to be with for 8 hours! This tour is well worth the time and money. From the hot springs, to the beautiful gardens, cute local towns, gorgeous coastal views, and natural carbinated water from various springs - I couldn't ask for a better day.

Wonderful east side tour with Joao from Pure Azores - I spent a wonderful day with Pure Azores for east side tour. The itinerary is well designed and in good time management. Joao is the fantastic guide, who knew everything about Azores. He has many stories to tell you and excellent local music to play in the van, and good photographer as well. We have a small group of six and Joao took care of us very well, and everyone really enjoy it with Joao. I will strongly recommend this tour, especially with Joao.

Unforgettable East São Miguel Experience with Joao! - We had the most incredible day exploring the east side of São Miguel with Joao as our guide. From the very beginning, he was warm, knowledgeable, and passionate about the island, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Joao took us to some of the most breathtaking spots, including the stunning viewpoints at Nordeste and the serene beauty of Ribeira dos Caldeirões and took us around Furnas for hot springs bathing which was amazing! What really stood out was how thoughtful and accommodating he was throughout the day—he made sure everyone felt comfortable. Highly highly recommend Joao as your tour guide!!

A must do tour! - Beautiful day, wonderful tour and great guide. Max was truly genuine in his passion for his new island. Being here for only a short time, Max invited us to see the island thru his eyes and it did not disappoint. We saw things that I have only read about and it was exciting. A must do tour.

What a perfect day - What a perfect day!! What beautiful landscapes! The stew cooked in pot in the geothermal ground was amazing! Sitting in the geothermal bath was serene. Our driver Max was excited to share his island with us. Max was knowledgeable, appreciates his home and had a great light of humor! This tour is a must.

Awe and wonder of San Miguel - Manuelle was informative, friendly and professional. He showed us the most amazing sights while sharing some of the rich history and geology of the island. No request was too much and at no point did we feel like we were keeping to a schedule. We would highly recommend this trip to everyone. Thank you Manuelle.

Excellent Tour and Guide - Our guide, Joacquim, was terrific. We started with a stop at one of the two tea plantations on the island. Joacquim gave a really good explanation of how the tea leaves are processed. There are only two tea plantations in Europe and they are both on Sao Miguel. We stopped at a lookout point to view the craters. The Azorean landscape is spectacular, with scenic views and lots of shades of green. We headed to the volcanic fields in Furnas to watch them take our lunch out of one of the holes where the meal cooks by the heat of the volcano….yes, it’s a little gimmicky but fun nonetheless. Locals can rent a hole for their own meal. We stopped at a local restaurant to eat the plentiful meal, lots of vegetables, chicken, pork, meat and sausage. All the meat was fork tender and delicious. On to the Terra Nostra Botanical Gardens and the hot springs. The gardens are world class and the hot springs a fun experience. The only snafu of the day was the pick-up point. Green Vision tours will pick you up at your hotel. When I got my confirmation a different hotel was listed. When I e-mailed Viator asking about this, they confirmed pick up at the wrong hotel. No big deal, just slightly confusing. I am also thought that we would walk thru the town of Furnas, which we didn’t do. The itinerary seemed just slightly different from what I had expected, though Joacquim is a great guide and can give you super suggestions about where to eat and what else to do. Overall an excellent day.
