Great, even when there was a problem - Had booked the whale watching and northern lights package, but unfortunately the whale watching during the afternoon was cancelled due to the conditions. When I then arrived in the evening for the northern lights cruise, there was an issue insofar as my tour operator had booked the experience with Elding for the wrong date (they’d had me down for October, when in fact I was there in November). After some time while the staff on the desk tried to work out what had happened, as they hadn’t been expecting me, they gave me a ticket and said they would sort it out with my tour operator. So despite the issue, which was beyond my control, I was still able to go without any problem at all. The staff couldn’t have been better or more helpful. We didn’t actually see the northern lights, but as a natural phenomenon they can’t be guaranteed. The guide on board seemed very knowledgeable and the boat was comfortable. I spent most of my time on the deck outside but went in as we were o the way back. The inside was comfortable and warm with plenty of seating.

Once in a lifetime, incredible experience, highly recommend - An absolutely incredible, once in a lifetime experience. The boat is very comfortable and the staff are incredible, nothing felt like too much on either of the boat trips. They even supplied anti-sickness tablets for my wife, I would highly recommend everyone going to Iceland take part in this.

Lovely tours - We did the combo whale watching and northern lights cruise. Both were amazing. They provide warm coveralls so that you’re comfortable throughout the entirety of the trip. We saw one green streak of the northern lights, and even though we did have a sighting, they still offered a free return. As for the whale tour, we saw humpbacks and minke whales. Well worth the time to go on a tour.

Incredible 10/10 humpback whales and northern lights!!! - DO IT!!!! - 10/10 Absolutely amazing experience. Memories to last a life tjme. I cried happy tears. First time in my life seeing a whale in the wild and we saw not one but TWO humpback whales - and in February!!! It was a relaxing boat ride, mixed weather so prepare for anything!… Our captain took us as close as he could get to the whales whilst also giving the whales enough space to act naturally. A tip off told him that there was a humpback whale in the harbour, so off we went and he was right. Lots of marine life, lots of sea birds and lots of very happy passengers. To top it off, we went out on the northern lights cruise on a cloudy night, and we saw the northern lights from the boat! The skyline of Reykjavík is beautiful at night, I highly recommend you all to do the combo experience. The guides were brilliant, Rob was funny and Whitty and really knew his stuff in relation to the northern lights. Thank you so much Elding - one day we will be back! Absolutely blew us away with how good both yours were. Incredible!!…

Great whale was there, Northern Lights failed due to weather - Top tour, very nice crew and the photos are very good. Even if there was only one whale left, we saw it several times ... the short round trip to seal after other animals 8seals were also there), to give the animal some rest again I found good - there you could warm up well, because after all quite frosty. Too bad that the Northern Lights cruise was cancelled due to weather-related and low chance of Northern Lights, but I prefer to sit seasick unsuccessfully in the cold. Partial refund has planned without any problems as we could no longer make a rebooking due to departure. Really recommended. Thank you1

Great tour wrap up well, and remember you might not see a Whale. - This was a split trip on the same day and the same boat. We went out in the afternoon to try and find some Whales, sadly for us we did not see any whales but we did see lots of dolphins. I would recommend wrapping up as it can get very cold on the boat, although you can go into the main part of the boat where it is warmer and there was some warm refreshments. We then rejoined the boat later and we headed out to see the Northern lights which we did see, so win win.

Whale watching as must, but Give the Northern lights a miss - The company we used, Edlings we couldn’t fault. The staff were all lovely and knowledgeable. We did whale watching on the morning (9am). Sea was a little choppy, and it was windy, so I would recommend using the overalls they provided when outside. Kept us warm. Obviously, due to whale movement you are not guaranteed to see them, but we saw a humpback and some porpoise. Humpback was right next to the boat. Lovely. We went back at 9pm for the Northern Lights tour. I honestly felt this was a waste of money and would say stay away and spend your money on something else. We went out, put our overalls a on and headed outside. The guide told us we needed a clear sky to see them. It was cloudy, so not sure why they took us. When the boat stopped, the guide then said your eyes need to adjust to the sky for about 20 minutes and you MIGHT be able to see them. Otherwise you might see them through your camera. My partners eyes are perfect, I wear glasses. After a while, my partner said he thought he could see something (I couldn’t) and to point my camera a certain way. There was the tiniest bit of green tinge. Not worth it at all. A few weeks earlier, we walked out of our house in Wigan, and saw red northern lights straight away without our eyes taking time to adjust, and they were much better than what we saw on the boat. Comparison photos attached. We think all the images they post are all enhanced to pull tourists in. Wish we’d spent our money on something else as it want a cheap experience.

The combo experience was not clear and I missed seeing whales - It was a bit cold and rainy when we went, but I love the water so it was nice to be out. The whale watcher was very knowledgeable, and shared a few facts that I will remember. While I did not get to see any whales, watching the dolphins were nice. I wouldn’t recommend unless you just needed to fill time. Also, the ladies at the front desk were not clear with what would happen to my tour since weather cancelled the northern lights portion of the tour, and I missed the first boat going out. I was rebooked for 4 hours later, but I would’ve preferred a refund.
