- Lundey - Puffin Watching: We will take you out on one of our smaller passenger boats and sail up to one of three islands that are home to thousands of Puffins during breeding season. Borrow our binoculars or bring a zoom camera to get a good view!
- Old Harbour - Between the two tours, you will have a couple of hours free time. We suggest spending lunch at one of the many restaurants at the charming Old Harbour. Ask our staff for recommendations!
- Faxafloi Bay - Whale Watching: Sailing out into the biggest bay in Iceland, Faxaflói, we will search for minke whales, humpback whales, porpoises and dolphins. Our tour has a sighting guarantee, which means that in the unlikely event that you don’t see cetacean on our tour, you can try again another day free of charge!

This combo tour offers two unique experiences: a 1 hr. puffin watching trip on a small boat and a 3 hr. whale watching adventure.
The puffin tour takes you to one of three nearby islands—Akurey, Engey, or Lundey—where you can observe thousands of birds, including puffins, in their natural habitat. The tour provides stunning views and insights from our naturalist guides.
The whale watching tour is a thrilling journey into the bay, where you get a chance to see humpback whales, minke whales, dolphins, and porpoises. The marine biologist guide shares fascinating information about the wildlife, making the experience both educational and inspiring.
Note that between the tours, you will have about 2 hours of free time to explore Reykjavík and enjoy lunch. The total duration from start to finish is about 6 hrs.
- Children under 13 years are required by law to wear life-vests for the duration of the tour.
- Please note that our fleet is not completely wheelchair accessible as there are steep stairs between lower and upper decks and high thresholds to get from the decks into the saloon as well as from the saloon to the toilets.
- Wheelchair users are welcome to bring a foldable chair onboard our bigger boats, but if possible, please advise our office prior to departure as we may need to assist with boarding.

Elding Whale Watching
Meet us in the ELDING ticket office located at Ægisgarður 5c by the Old Harbour district in Reykjavík. Once at the pier, simply follow the red colour to find us! Be sure to arrive at least 15 min. before departure to ensure enough time to check in and to board the boat.

Great Two-In-One Whale and Puffin tour - We had wonderful time with Two-in-0ne: Whale and Puffin tour with Elding Whale Watching. The boat is clean, friendly staff and we saw puffins and a lot of whales. Had puffing tour in the morning, break for lunch for about 1.5 hour then 3 hr whale watching tour. We were not sure if we will see any but we saw a lot of whales. We had some rain but we watched from inside and did not get wet. We did not try to take pictures since we learned that the Elding staff will send pictures. We enjoyed the tour and had a great time. Highly recommend this. Thanks for the pictures.

Fantastic trip - Both the Puffin and Whale watching tours were incredible. Both were well organised and informative. The weather was OK but sea was lumpy with rain setting in at the end of the Whale trip. We managed to see lots of Puffins and whales, including several Fin whale, a hump back who hung around and showed off for a good amount of time and a large pod of Dolphin plus diving Gannets. The company email the photos from the Whale tour which, as you can imagine, were a lot better than any we could take so just sat back and enjoyed the experience. . Do take up the offer of warm overalls on the Whale boat. Do take a look at the small display at the dock. One of the highlights of our trip to Iceland and thoroughly recommend.

Great fun - Able to see puffins and humpback whales breaching and diving
2 whales looked as if playing with each other jumping and rolling out or water
Also fun to see birds dive bombing straight down into water to fish!🤩🤩🤩

Once in a lifetime opportunity, not to be missed - Both the Puffin and Whale watching tours were incredible. Both were well organised and informative. We were lucky that the weather was good and we managed to see lots of whales, including a Fin whale which was the first time some of the crew had ever seen one too. Sara was kind enough to email the photos that she had taken on both tours which, as you can imagine, were a lot better than we had captured. Thoroughly recommend.

Great whale watching experience - “It was amazing 😻” - my four year old.
We saw many humpback whales including one which breached quite a few times as well as dolphins.

Fantastic Day Whale Watching? - Both tours were wonderful, but the whale watching was outstanding. Lots of viewing locations on the boat. We saw lots of whale activity and breaching. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable. The guide was able to share lots of information and the importance of protecting our oceans and marine life. Loved the free motion sickness pills. I didn't expect to receive photos from the tour which was a huge bonus! Overall great experience, highly recommend.

Puffins, whales, and dolphins… - The puffin tour was great. They take you out to the island and you can see lots of puffins. The binoculars provided definitely help. But I agree with someone else who went on this tour. You are not goin to get up and personal with the puffins. You are a distance away. Tour guide was very nice and helpful.
The whale watching is a huge boat that even has a place to buy food and coffee. There is wifi on the boat. It is a very smooth ride with lots of space.
They provide blankets and overall is you want them. We did see different whales and dolphins, but unfortunately no good pictures because you have no idea when they will come above water. The captain kept us aware of when they were spotted.
I enjoyed both experiences. Also since there is an hour and a half in between both tours you have the opportunity to go walk around and explore or grab something to eat. I was able to go to Rainbow street in between, take pics, shop, and eat. It’s not a far walk.

Amazing exclusive whale watching in small boat with great guides - Amazing exclusive whale watching tour in small rib boat with great guides. Everything was very well organized. Very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Small boat (12 people) that allowed us to get really close to the whales. Did get to see many whales, both minke and humpback, very close as well as dolphins. A truly amazing evening. Thanks

Yay to whales nay to puffins - We wouldn’t rebook this puffin tour. They put too many people on the boat. Some seats were inside without windows. So when we were by the puffins and went to look outside we were blocking other people and it was too crowded. Not ideas for older or younger people either, to get to the top deck you have to climb a ladder.
The whale watching portion was great however. Very knowledgeable tour guide. Boat was comfortable. Hot coffee and snacks also. Would recommend this potion of the tour.
