Highlights
  • Volcano Hekla - Hekla is one of Iceland’s most active volcanoes, and was for centuries believed to be the entrance to hell.
  • Skogafoss - Visit Skogafoss waterfall. This is a picturesque 200-foot (60-meter) tall, broad and powerful waterfall, and due to its striking appearance it is frequently used in movies and commercials. You can get close enough to feel the spray from the falls on your face and, if you like, then climb a stairway leading to the top of the falls allowing you a view from above.
  • Black Sand Beach - Stroll along the black sand and pebble beach of Reynisfjara. The beach features stacks of basalt columns that wall off surrounding cliffs scattered with caves. You will be awed by the incredibly powerful waves of the Atlantic ocean crashing on to the shore. Offshore you will see the Reynisdrangar pillars, basalt rock stacks that rise from the sea.
  • Vik - Here we stop at a local restaurant for a lunch break at your own expense.
  • Volcano Eyjafjallajokull - A volcano / glacier, which gained worldwide attention in 2010 when the ash cloud from an eruption stopped all flight traffic in Europe.
  • Solheimajokull Glacier - Short stop by Solheimajokull, an outlet glacier of Myrdalsjokull glacier.
  • Seljalandsfoss - Seljalandsfoss is a unique waterfall in that you can actually walk behind it when the weather permits and experience the beauty of this waterfall in a completely new way.

Southern waterfall Iceland - Fantastic falls the best waterfall I have ever been to . In my humble opinion more spectacular than the great Nigara falls.

Wonderful tour with wonderful guide - Darren as our guide and Helgi, our bus driver, were really wonderful. Our full day tour included many wonderful sites and landmarks, great stories and descriptions, and helpful advice to enhance our time in Reykjavik. Darren even knew where to take us to see puffins! Despite chilly, rainy weather, we had a fantastic day! Thanks so much.

Great storytelling and the ideal intro to Iceland - Loved the commentary from Darren and Helgi was a great smooth and safe driver. An excellent overview of life in Iceland, thoughtful reflections, interesting fun facts. Loved the bonus detour to see puffins, great overview of two waterfalls, glacier stop and the black beach. Timing was ideal at each stop and great commentary on what we were passing in colourful and interesting descriptions. The ideal introduction to Iceland.

South coast classic tour Iceland - We recently went on the south coast tour of Iceland with gray line, the trip was very well organised, the tour itself was fantastic with the waterfalls, black sand beaches and the glacier, although the weather wasn't great on the day it didn't effect the tour, our tour guide Kat had a great deal of knowledge from the history of the island to it's current affairs, nothing was too much trouble even it being a long day. We did the golden circle tour about eighteen months ago with gray line as well and we had a great experience then, if you're looking to book a tour in Iceland I would highly recommend this company.

Great tour - Karen and driver Helgi took us on a great trip of the South Coast. She gave us lots of information with humor mixed in. We were informed of the restroom brakes and lunch stops. It was a full day visiting the waterfalls , black sand beach, glacier and Vik.

So proactive and thoughtful - Kristi and our driver were such an experienced team. Kristi provided so many, well researched, details which truly enhanced the experience. Highly recommend the tour to give insight to Iceland’s unique showcase of ancient culture blended with modern adaptation.

Good trip to see some iconic locations - A good trip in trying weather conditions. Gutsy effort by the coach driver. Saw 4 iconic location on the southern coast, got to walk around for long enough at each spot. Funny moments at a few stops with late returning passengers, was there 23 or 24 people on the tour?

Good sight and experiences - Outstanding sights and experiences. We took a tour the day prior that had a fabulous tour guide. This one was adequate though I would state that he spent more time conversing with the driver rather than us.

Very disappointed in Viator! You will never get your money back if something goes wrong!k - We never got picked up. 5 of us were waiting for pu and we were all told different times. Viator and Gray line tours would not refund our money. Book directly with tour companys, not Viator who is the middleman. It's usually cheaper and instructions aren't passed through Viator, a 3rd party! If we'd have booked directly with Graylines it would have been cheaper and better instructions! Not doing Viator again!
