Great Full-Day Tour Along the South Coast - Great tour for seeing major sites along the south coast! Weather in the morning on our ride east was rainy and overcast with occasional breaks, but we got mostly sun on our way back in the late afternoon, and views were magnificent. Our guide (Jennifer10) was engaging, upbeat, and full of information, and our bus driver (Michal?) knew how to handle the bus and the roads. They even managed to squeeze in a couple extra sites for quick stops. Planned stops for restrooms and meals were well-spaced and provided options (burgers, hot dogs, cafeteria plates). Duckboat ride at Glacier Lagoon was a highlight of our visit to Iceland. Full trip took about 16 hours.

Wonderful experience with a great tour guide - Love the tour guide Daniel, who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Not only He explained all of the visiting points along the tour. He also told us many Icelandic stories. The driver Lukas was able to drive reasonably fast, so we were able to get back a bit earlier. Overall it was a great day for us

Tour company went the extra mile - The boat trip around the lagoon was magical. Because of glacier flooding, the road back was closed. The company was quick and found us an incredible hotel (which they paid for). It was a long trip home (14 hours on the bus) but our tour guide tried to make it interesting and fun.

Fair Warning, re: What's Sold and What's Delivered - We booked a 'small group' tour to the Glacier Lagoon and back. Without warning (though there is certain to be fine print somewhere) we were farmed out to a 'large group' tour. What's worse when we were finally picked up at bus stop 15 we were taken to a gas station parking lot for a transfer to a hulking bus. We were the final guests to arrive, so of course we were shunted to the last remaining seats in the back of the bus. It was a verrrrrry long 14-hour day. The tour guide was great, when we could speak to her for a few minutes here and there when the bus wasn't in motion, but the overall experience was beyond disappointing, and far off the mark from what we were sold. Caveat emptor, travelers. We booked two other 'small group' tours out of Reykjavik the same week, and they were highly positive. This one was sooooooo disappointing. We paid a premium and a got a bargain basement experience...something I spent hours researching thoroughly so that exactly what unfolded wouldn't happen. (NOTE--We still generously tipped our guide and driver, as it's not their fault they were contracted by a conveyor belt-style company in it only for the money, and not for the product they claim to sell.)

Too long in the bus and then boat overcrowded - We had only two days in Iceland and wanted to see the southside of the island. I saw this tour with Glacier Lagoon and thought it would be an interesting addition. However, it was not clear the tour involved nearly 5 hours of driving each way. The lagoon boot was full of 25 people and very hard for someone my height to see over the people who were blocking the side of the boat with the glaciers.
