Þórsmörk is a vast valley, christened after Þór, the Norse deity of thunder. This cherished nature reserve boasts a rich variety of foliage and arboreal beauty, with the frosty Krossá river maneuvering its way amidst rugged mountainous terrain - a truly magnificent location to embark upon during a day trip.

The initial halt during the journey is the extraordinary Seljalandsfoss waterfall, an essential sightseeing spot for any expedition along the southern coastline. We will be navigating challenging terrains and fording rivers, on our way to catching the first glimpses of Gígjökull, an outlet glacier of the Eyjafjallajökull glacier volcano, where we make a brief halt before proceeding towards the Þórsmörk valley.
