Amazing start to our holiday in Iceland - Absolutely loved this trip! This was the first excursion we booked in Iceland and I cannot recommend it enough. Not sure if it’s always like this but for us, as this trip had only been booked by a few people, we then got a small group northern light tour after the baths which was sooooo much nicer than the large standard northern lights tour that we did the following day. In the smaller group they drive you around and you “chase” the lights more which increases your chances of seeing them. Fontana wellness was also incredible - multiple hot baths to choose from at different temperatures, as well as a sauna and three steam rooms. The views were incredible. 10/10 recommend

Not sure what we enjoyed most, hot springs or the amazing light show?! - The drive out to the hot springs was easy - pick up was on time and transfer to big coach very efficient. Our guide passed on lots of local information on the 75min drive out to the hot springs. We had the buffet included, which was good quality and included free coffee and water. The hot springs were a big hit with my 9 and 11 year old, especially the challenge of dipping in to the lake. Steam rooms, saunas, three geothermal pools and a large hot tub kept everyone amused , and the changing rooms were very nice with lovely toiletries, free lockers and hairdryers. Then off to look for the Northern Lights (along with half of Iceland it seems 😂). After an hour we were beginning to give up hope but our guide and driver were determined that they would show up, and they did! An absolutely amazing show, which lasted over an hour, just unbelievably beautiful 🤩). It was absolutely freezing, but we could pop back into the bus to defrost when needed. A great trip, even if the lights hadn’t turned up it would have been worth it.

Fun night! - This was a fun tour especially because our driver / tour guide was so amazing! He provided interesting information about Iceland on our drive to Fontana Baths and then on the way home he told us Icelandic Folk Tales. Fontana was a very nice facility with baths of different temperatures. The dinner was good also. After the baths we drove for only a few minutes before our driver spotted Northern Lights. We stopped for quite a while to enjoy them. I had trouble taking pictures - but then the driver helped me with some settings on my camera so that I could capture the beauty!

Providing A Perfect End to My Icelandic Vacation - This’s the last tour I joined in this vacation. And I have to say I’d made a right choice. It’s a truly great idea to have a hot spring bath before exploring aurora as it relaxed my mind to get ready for a WOW experience. And we’re very lucky to have Albert as our guide. He’s experienced and passionate about hunting Northern Lights. With his help, I was embraced by the starry sky and fluorescent green Northern Lights. The ending of my Icelandic trip was like no other, just perfect!

Very relaxing spa experience - No Northern Lights due to the weather but the Fontana spa was fantastic - the only reason I didn’t give five stars is because we needed more time there!

Great experience with small shortcomings - So the baths experience, the dinner and the northern lights were all fantastic but I really wish the excursion was longer to afford more time to eat and enjoy the buffet upon arrival as well experience the geothermal baths without feeling rushed. Trying the Icelandic rye bread that they bake in the ground using geothermal heat was a highlight and probably the most delicious bread I have or will ever taste. We did catch an extremely faint glimpse of the northern lights but nothing dramatic like you associate with most photographs but that was entirely due to a lack of solar wind on that particular night. The clarity of the starry sky made up for that and was quite beautiful. Only complaint was the rushed feeling of the dinner and the baths experience but the quality of both experiences was still very good.

Excellent spa - Spa was amazing. Buffet food was good but make sure you get in quick! Suitable for vegetarians as well. Clean changing facilities but is communal. Access to very cold lake and hot pools and a relaxing experience. Sadly didn’t see any northern lights this trip but was rearranged with no extra charge for the next day. Only downside which is why not give five stars is the coach driver/guide wasn’t very helpful or informative.

Lovely spa experience and the Northern Lights - whats not to love - Having spent the day exploring Reykjavik, we headed off for our Warm baths, cool lights experience. We really enjoyed the Fontana spa, buffet dinner was included and it was very nice (although the choices for our slightly fussy 12yr old were limited). Heading off to see the lights we knew that it was potentially going to be tricky to see them, but we were lucky and I think much of that was down to our brilliant guide knowing where to go to see them - the 2nd spot was great and we got a good view of them. Overall this was a great experience and we thought Reykjavik Excursions were fab.

Warm baths and cool lights - We had this tour included with our package. Trip to the Fontana baths. Trip took about an hour from Reykjavík to the baths. Buffet meal available on arrival. The meal was pretty disappointing and I was horrified to see it would have cost nearly 4,000 IKR if it wasn’t in the package! Soup, choice of a couple of main courses (chicken curry and fish) and some fruit. Not much of a choice and wasn’t really renewed often enough. Tea / coffee / water included. Suggest you have a good lunch! Make sure you bring your own towel as renting one will cost 800 IKR. A lot made of the naked showering but just like any other facility has male / female changing areas with lockers. Helpful signs to show you which bits to was well:) Thermal baths are excellent although there are some areas where low lighting makes finding the steps in the water quite difficult. We headed off at about 10:00 pm. It had been a very wet and cloudy day so had little expectation of seeing the northern lights but shortly after we left the sky cleared and we stopped on a mountain top and watched as the lights built. A truly spectacular experience. Tour guide Daisy was brilliant explaining everything and even took photos she posted on her Flickr page we could share which was fantastic. Star:) Incredibly cold up there so come well layered up. Snowed on the way back which also added to the overall experience.
