Beautiful Museum - Amazing and intriguing museum. Their foam models of whales are incredibly detailed and true-to-size. There is even a true-to-size model of a blue whale.

Interested in whales? This is the place for you. - We thought that this was a great museum. If you are interested in whales, dolphins and porpoises, this is the place for you. The models are perfect likenesses, but there is so much more to see. The videos could keep you there for hours if you had the time and the free audio guide (download to your phone) is excellent. I used that, but the rest of the family were happy to read the text with each exhibit. If you are prepared to invest the time, you could learn so much here. If you are not, and I get the impression that some reviewers haven’t been, then you might not like it as much as we did.

Interesting exhibition! - Beautiful, well-kept exhibition of impressive animals. Thanks to many options to choose an appropriate language, you get a clear explanation. Still, we found the visit a bit (too?) expensive.

Good to visit with kids… - Very nice museum with audio tour. Beautiful life size whales to see along with their real skeletons. Must see the video presentation in the far end which runs every 1 to 1.5 hr. Their gift shop and coffee shop is very small though.

Good but a bit overpriced - Nice and interesting visit. Pricing seems a bit high though. I paid 3000 isk, include 30% reduction from city card, and think THAT would be fair basis price, compared tonother museum around like Saga or Maritime Museum.

Nice break in the afternoon - Very educational and a nice relaxing break in the afternoon. The models were interesting but some of the signage wasn’t well placed. The documentary was informative

Whales of Iceland - The museum is smaller than what I have imagined, but it is really informative. There are models of a bunch of whales that you see in movies or documentaries. As a fan of whales, I would say it worths a visit, not only because it is the largest whale museum in Europe.
