Highlight of my holiday in Iceland - Having been on several cruises around Europe, I was very much looking forward to visiting Iceland. After some research I decided that a golden circle tour would be the best way to spend the short time we had while the cruise ship was docked in Reykjavik. Whilst looking through the best trips on TripAdvisor, BusTravel Iceland’s seemed like a good choice, with great reviews and good value especially when compared with the extortionate prices charged by the cruise line for similar tours. This trip certainly did not disappoint. Since we are fairly new to booking with independent tour operators rather than through the cruise line, we were slightly concerned that we were at the right pickup location, however the bus arrived at the Skarfabakki cruise terminal as arranged and the collection was very smooth with all passengers accounted for. Huge thanks to Matt (aka M-dog) who was the best guide we’ve ever had and really helped make the golden circle tour the best trip we’ve ever had. Matt was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Although the incredible natural wonders spoke for themselves, Matt’s commentary greatly enhanced the experience and we could have listened to him all day. I also think Matt being British helped as most people on the tour were British and his insights into Iceland from someone who moved there and fell in love with the country really helped highlight the uniqueness of Iceland from an outside perspective. Having never visited Iceland before, I can now say after this amazing trip that I too have fallen in love with Iceland and would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Reykjavik.

Beautiful but too rush - The scenery is breathtaking. Too bad it’s very rush that we couldn’t spend longer time to enjoy. Suggest tour operator should give a bit longer time for washroom break and enjoying the beautiful scenery

No refunds even on emergency circumstances. - I was disappointed that we could not do this trip due to our plane being cancelled on our trip and not making it here on time due to the freak global outage. Please be advised they are not flexible with cancellation policy and you will not receive even a partial refund if you have airline issues. I would not reserve it again if I had the choice or I think they should offer a partial refund for emergency issues. They were flexible and great to book but not when there are problems-losing hundreds of dollars was not an easy thing to experience.

Disappointing - We’ve been on many tours and Thor, the guide, was not very informative. Little effort was put into doing his job. We drove to the sites but little information was given. We had done the same tour a couple of years earlier and this didn’t compare.

No show - Can’t really give this a review as our trip was cancelled at short notice. We were offered an alternative but weren’t in town long enough to take this up. Very disappointed as this was to be the highlight of our visit to Iceland
