Highlights
  • Golden Circle Route - Golden Circle is the ultimate day tour route from Reykjavik. It includes three Iceland’s iconic destinations: Geysir geothermal area, Gullfoss waterfall and Thingvellir national park.
  • Kerid Crater - Ancient volcanic crater lake with stunning walking trails, including a winding path down into the mouth of the volcano.

65 minutes drive to Kerið. 25 minutes on location

  • Geysir - Geysir is one of Iceland´s most iconic and popular attractions. In fact the name for this geological feature is derived from the original icelandic term, a rare instance where an icelandic word is used internationally.

25 minutes drive to location. 75 minutes on location
Walk past steaming pool and stream towards Strokkur Geysir, which shoots steam and hot water high in the air, every 10 minutes of so. So you will have plenty of time to see it perform during your stop here. Strokkur has been known to erupt up to 40 meters into the air.

  • Gullfoss Waterfall - Gullfoss waterfall is one of iceland´s most impressive and powerful waterfalls. This multi-drop falls derives much of its power from glacial meltwater from Langjökull glacier which looms large to the north of Gullfoss.
There are several viewing platforms here where you can take in the sights from different perspectives. On the walking trails you can feel the spray from Gullfoss on your face, such is the power of the falls.
Gullfoss has been known to freeze in particularly harsh winters though this is increasingly rare.

15 minutes drive to location. 40 minutes on location

  • Thingvellir National Park - Thingvellir, a UNESCO heritage site is notable for two main reason. Firstly it is an historically significant location for Icelanders, as Iceland´s parliament, Alþingi, first met here in the late 10th century! Chieftains from all over would meet here periodically, some traveling great distances in order to discuss the issues of the day.
Thingvellir is also important due to its unique geology, sitting as it does on the mid-atlantic ridge between the european and american tectonic plates. Iceland is the only place in the world where the ridge can be seen on land, with the edges of both plates clearly visible.

60 minutes drive to location. 40 minutes on location. 45 minutes drive to location.

  • Secret Lagoon - Gamla Laugin - Secret Lagoon, also known as Gamla Laugin, is Iceland´s oldest geothermal pool. This natural hot-springs is the perfect refuge from the sometimes harsh winter months in Iceland. Your entrance ticket is included in your tour price. Just remember to bring your swimsuit and towel, although those can be rented here for an extra fee.
  • Northern Lights Bus - Your evening northern lights hunt will be on a different bus to your morning Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon tour.
Our guides will take you out into the countryside in pursuits of the shimmering lights display of the aurora. We will do our best to find the lights for you and will go to several locations if necessary to find clear skies.

Travel Squad group tours of Iceland - March 2024! - Highly recommend using BusTravel Iceland to see the sights of this magnificent country! Recently returned from a trip where we took 38 strangers on trips around Iceland and ended up making 40 friends! Our driver Lukasz and guide Beggy were absolutely superb and became part of our group family for the two days we spent with them! We had a full day out on the Golden Circle, followed by an awesome evening meal that Beggy organised for us and then spent a magical evening chasing the Aurora! We were also lucky enough to have the same two for our South Coast tour two days later - as a coach driver myself I really appreciated having the same driver & guide for both of our tours! They were both so warm & welcoming and we had so much fun with them both. They also threw in extra stops using their local knowledge, as well as passing on lots of hints & tips. Even days later we’re still talking about the memories we made together and we all miss them very much! Thank you guys! We also had an evening at the Blue Lagoon and our driver Thor K was also very welcoming and looked after us, even offering us a once in a lifetime opportunity to stop enroute to see the lava flow! The whole booking process with Neil in the group bookings was so simple, with our ever changing group size and requirements no issue at all! Thank you all at BusTravel from your Travel Squad buddies!

Outstanding Experience - Where do you start. We had a fantastic guide Anna who was very knowledgeable and gave us a fantastic guide everything we saw from the Geysir to the amazing Secret Lagoon. The highlights were plentiful and seeing the Gulfoss falls and the National Park was phenomenal. Iceland is one of the most interesting and stunning countries I have visited and to top it all seeing the Northern Lights in all their grandeur. First class tour a must for anyone visiting.

One word - Amazing. - This trip is absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend it. We were a little disappointed that we had the northern lights cancelled on Wednesday evening but we were able to reschedule for Friday and oh my goodness the display was spectacular. I feel so lucky to have witnessed them. Our tour guide Daniel was fantastic and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this trip.

Great value! - Matt, was an excellent guide! He provided an excellent level of detail, so well organised. He even took pictures of our group and showed us the best spots. He made the day special! He's mum was in town too that was sweet because she joined us on the tour. I would have given the package five stars but the evening guide for the Northern Lights was the total opposite of Matt, communication and interaction with the guests was on a different level. Unfortunately we did not see the Northern Lights, nature wasn't on our side. There was the option to rebook but, which is great. Thankfully the Lights appeared the next night on the harbour at Reykjavík...what a treat!

Day Tour Great - Northern Lights was NOT GREAT - I had two completely different experiences on this tour. The Day Tour to The Golden Circle Secret Lagoon was AMAZING! The tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. The stops were fascinating. Was a great experience. The Northern Lights tour was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! The guide seemed knowledgeable. He gave us information on the best spots to see the northern lights - number 1 being to find a dark spot. However, the spot we went to was in the parking lot of a light house where the beam and vehicles in the parking lot washed out the darkness. The driver and the guide let us out of the bus, stayed with us for a few minutes, left us some hot chocolate, then disappeared. We spent several hours at this one location without seeing the lights. We were led to believe that if the lights were not visible at the one spot then we would try several others. But we stayed in the one spot. The nights earlier I was on a different northern lights tour where we went to three dark locations where we not only saw the northern lights, but were also successful in capturing images on our cameras and smart phones.

Day tour good. Evening tour Disappointing - Day tour good. Dennis very knowledgeable. Northern lights disappointing. Very little sight of northern lights though no one's fault But...... Coach 40 minutes late pick up time then , but then spent 30 minutes sitting in a car park wasting time when clouded over and apparent no northern llights to see when could have just got us back to drop of point earlier.

Can't book seats - Disappointed with long day ahead very exciting but as last on bus and as a family we were split up which ruined the day lack of chat and our son had autism meltdown as he logically said we paid less for flights and got to sit together spoilt the whole tour
