- Thingvellir National Park - The day starts with visit to the Thingvellir valley. A place of amazing natural beauty where the land has been torn apart by the separation of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to the largest fresh water lake in Iceland and is the beating heart of Icelandic pride, being the birthplace for the longest standing parliament on the world.
- Strokkur - The journey then continues to the Geysir park which is filled with bubbling and steaming geothermal springs. The anticipation builds as you approach the viewing point for the Strokkur Geyser, where the ground trembles and almost without warning, the geyser erupts spectacularly to a heights of 35 meters.
- Gullfoss Waterfall - Then you continue to the magnificent and majestic Golden Waterfall or Gullfoss as the locals call it. As water melts from the second largest glacier in Iceland, Langjökull, it reaches Gullfoss where it falls 32 meters down into a canyon with a thunderous roar. An amazing site and favourite of visitors.
- Blue Lagoon - If you choose this option at the time of booking, you can extend your tour to 13 hours, including up to 3 hours of relaxation at the Blue Lagoon.

The Golden Circle is a compilation of Iceland’s most renowned natural attractions that every visitor to Iceland should explore. You’ll witness the incredible geyser and hot springs, marvel at the stunning Gullfoss Waterfall, and take a stroll in the lava canyon, the location where the American and Eurasian continents dramatically separated, in Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park. A live guide and an individual computer tablet in every seat equipped with an audio guide in 10 languages enhance the tour experience. If you opt for the Blue Lagoon supplement (which must be confirmed during the reservation process), you’ll make a brief stop at our Reykjavik Terminal before proceeding to the Blue Lagoon for a serene evening, basking in the incredible geothermal waters.
- Dress according to weather: In Iceland it is always wise to dress in warm, waterproof clothes. Weather changes can be sudden so expect the unexpected. Bring a waterproof jacket and pants, headwear and gloves. Good outdoor shoes are recommended
- It is recommended that you bring your own headphones for the on board audio guide simply because they will fit you best. It is also great for the environment. If you don’t have your headphones or forgot to bring them, earphones are available to purchase on board (own expense)
- If you choose the Blue Lagoon option at the time of booking, you can extend your tour to 13 hours, including up to 3 hours of relaxation at the Blue Lagoon.

Visit Iceland! It's so amazing!! - Seeing the glaciers and understanding the formation of the area was very spectacular. We really appreciated our guide. We had never seen such beautiful waterfalls as this.

Wonder experience for a solo traveler - I absolutely loved this tour! We had a fairly small group so we got out early to beat some crowds of larger tours. The guide was so friendly and full of interesting facts along the way. He answered questions, shared some fun jokes, and even offered some suggestions of things to try around the area. We started at Þingvellir, then Strokkur Geysir, a quick stop to feed some Icelandic horses, and then wrapped up with Gullfoss. Absolutely stunning and such a great way to see some the landscape and major viewpoints without having to worry about driving yourself. It’s also a great way to still experience such a beautiful land if you may be limited on time. I also had the Blue Lagoon add on which was SO worth it. Yes it is a major tourist spot. But it was beautiful and a relaxing way to end my day. The lagoon package also included a drink and a face mask. I definitely enjoyed this whole experience and would recommend it especially for a solo traveler looking to get the most out of limited time.

Amazing Iceland - I had a wonderful day. Overall the timing was well-paced. Our guide, Darren was knowledgeable about the sites and Iceland in general. He gave interesting insights throughout the tour. Our driver Mick ensured that the ride was smooth. I particularly like the waterfalls it was a sight to behold. Be prepared to walk up and down the hill.

Good tour of the golden circle express tour. - The first part of the tour was excellent. The optional blue lagoon part was a bit of disaster because the operator changed the return time, We received this notice on the day itself. We missed out on the tour, as it was not able to get back on time for the cruise ship. Having said that, I asked Viator to refund only the portion of the tour we cannot take. Viator did refund the tour cost, that is very good of them. I do wish the operator could stick to the schedule as originally intended, that was 7 hours, we would have been able to attend the blue lagoon experience.

The Express Tour with Optional Blue Lagoon Admission was an enjoyable experience. The itinerary was well-planned, allowing us to see the key highlights efficiently. The Blue Lagoon was particularly impressive, offering a unique and relaxing experience.
However, I felt that the tour guide could have provided more information during the tour. There were many points of interest where additional insights and historical context would have enhanced the experience for participants. Despite this, the tour was still worthwhile, especially for those who appreciate a more self-guided approach.

Disorganized and unclear communication - Disorganized and communication was poor. For example, we weren’t told anything at all about the return trip when we were dropped off at the Blue Lagoon at night and there was no guide present. We had no idea when the bus back would be there, and it was late (10 PM). We tried to ask the bus driver but he didn’t have any info. So if we didn’t happen to catch the last bus back by coincidence, we would’ve been stuck a 1.5 hour drive away from the city the night before our flight. The Blue Lagoon part was actually a separate bus/trip from the first part, so we waited at the bus terminal for a second bus. Furthermore, a bunch of information on this page is wrong. There is no audio guide and you don’t need to bring headphones, for example.
There also seemed to be miscommunication between employees or otherwise wrong information being told somewhere. Sometimes we were told different things by different people, like where the buses were even GOING. This happened immediately upon the buses initially showing up at the harbor, even. Partway through the tour, people had to change buses since they had accidentally boarded the wrong one, as there was almost no explanation which was which at first. A lot of us were confused. At least our guide for the Golden Circle part (Rosa) was very nice and funny.

Viator Disaster - Our Viator ticket said pickup was at the Borg Hotel where we were staying. No one came to pick us up. Contacted your local tour partner who said they don’t pick up at the hotel. How were we to know this? Missed entire tour. We expect a full refund ASP. The experience was a joke. Came to Reykjavik to see Blue Lagoon. Didn’t happen thanks to Viator.
When can we expect refund.

Blue Lagoon Bust - A prior tour had been scehduled in Reykjavik, Iceland, but was cancelled due to volcanic activity. This was cancelled almost two weeks before the tour was to take place. We then booked this particular tour with Viator because we very much wanted to go to the Blue Lagoon which was an option with this tour. We never received any notification that the tour provider for Viator would be UNABLE to take us to the Blue Lagoon. It was not unitl we were hours into the bus trip that we were informed they could not take us to the Blue Lagoon. If they had given us notice that they could not take us, we could have cancelled the tour with Viator and found another one that was going to the Blue lagoon. We have requested a refund from Viator for this major disappointment. Communication on the part of Viator and their vendors and the client is critical. It is unfortuneate this communication did not take place - the vendor knew they would be unable to fulfill the trip as booked well in advance. We will see how Viastor deals with this!
