Highlights
  • Golden Circle Route - Iceland’s most popular sightseeing route, where three of the country’s most spectacular natural wonders can be seen on the same trip.
  • Thingvellir National Park - Head first to Thingvellir National Park with your guide. It was here, in the year 930, that the Icelandic national parliament was founded. Known locally as Althingi, the institution stands today as the oldest of its kind in the world, but that’s not the only reason it’s such a special place. It is here, in the Thingvellir National Park, that the mighty tectonic plates of North America and Europe meet.
  • Strokkur - Journey on to the Haukadalur geothermal area, where the hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur await. Discover impressive geothermal features such as bubbling mud pools, and marvel at the Strokkur geyser’s regular eruptions.
  • Geysir - A more famous but less active geyser, located next to Strokkur.
  • Gullfoss Waterfall - Continue on to the impressive Gullfoss waterfall, widely considered to be one of Iceland’s most beautiful sights. Gullfoss is fed by the Hvítá River, which tumbles down dramatically over a series of rocky steps into deep plunge pools below. Marvel at the falls’ power and perhaps take a moment to capture the views on camera.

A enjoyable tour - We were to happy to pick the Golden Circle tour with Darren as a hilarious and brilliant tour guide and Helgi as a calm and reliable bus driver. They never rushed us from site and site, giving an opportunity to relax and enjoy a beautiful scenery of Iceland countryside. There were a remarkable tour! Thank a lot, Darren and Helgi!

Not to be missed - I had a fantastic day. A great way to explore the area. The guide ( 23/5/24) was outstanding. I learnt so much about Iceland and thank him for that.

Excellent Day Trip from Reykjavik - Great tour! Oliver was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. The tour moves at a good pace but gives good time to check out each stop. There are opportunities for lunch/snacks along the way, but they are limited and expensive (lamb soup at the Geysir stop was well worth it). The bus is comfortable with WiFi and phone chargers. All of the stops are worthwhile and the scenery along the way is interesting. Definitely recommend for people who want to see a lot in a small amount of time; maybe not as spectacular as the South Coast tour, but arguably more interesting and historic. Our teens liked it. Not sure I’d bring small kids. We will use and recommend Grey Line again.

Great tour, could be cheaper! - I cannot believe what I saw on this tour. It was almost a surreal experience. I picked the 8 am which was a blessing because we got everywhere first and we missed the crowds. We were a small group so they put us in a minibus instead of a big bus and in our interactions we became friendly rather quickly. I could ask so many questions and the driver would answer them and was very accessible and witty. The only reason that this is a 4 star instead of 5 is because of the cost. For a similar price there is a tour on here that covers an additional detour stop.

Golden circle - 7 hours are definitely too short for such a tour. The places are definitely touristic places. The guide was quite rude and barely speaking English. I would definitely recommend a bit longer tour.
