Fantastic experience! - Fantastic experience! Our guide, Gareth, was extremely knowledgeable and explained the geology and history in a way that was easy to follow and genuinely interesting. What really stood out was his great sense of humour. It kept the atmosphere relaxed and made the whole tour even more enjoyable. Highly recommended if you’re looking for an informative and fun cave adventure!

Another reminder of the power of nature - You are very much prepared to enter the cave after you walked, perhaps half a mile through the blowing. Snow and cold. Inside, there’s a pretty constant temperature. It still of course is not warm. Our Guide explain the formation geology of this lava tube. He showed us the stalagrites and stalagmites that have been formed , but are very likely not going to grow unless there’s another flow of lava. . There is a thin one to 2 cm skin of lava that looks like ripples and waves, or dripping chocolate or melting wax that Lines the walls, and sometimes the ceilings. You have to go down two or three flights of stairs to enter the cave, and of course, then return back up those same steps that you leave. There was a well lit wooden walkway that made it easy to negotiate further Entry into the cave. Our group ranged between 70 and 81. All of us with some arthritic complaint, but we didn’t have any trouble. I had my hiking pole with a rubber tip with me, but it was more of a problem than the help. The tip would want to slip through the slats of the wooden planks. I hope you have time to fit this into your schedule

Fascinating! - Wow, what an incredible experience! We were in a small group - just us plus two others. Our guide was lovely and shared her knowledge as well as answering our questions. As others have said, it is pretty cold down there so dress up warm! Quite a lot of steps up and down but no hurry. At the end you can experience full and complete darkness. Worth a visit for something really different.

The cave is long and very... - The cave is long and very cold and can be walked in complete safety. It's darker than limestone caves but the darkness brings more to the experience. The guide was nice and funny and made the experience an absolute blast.

Excellent Cave tour - Very good cave tour of a lava cave. Footing is excellent most of the time, with wood walkways. There is one tight spot at the beginning, so if you are scared of tight spaces, that may be a concern. Very knowledgeable staff. Very interesting cave. It's off the beaten path a little, but it is close to Barnafoss (which you should see).

Fun cave excursion - A fun excursion. Honor our guide, was informative and helpful with a good sense of humour. 10/10. Wrap up well as it is 2 degrees in the cave, and you are there for over an hour. The wooden boardwalk made it safe to follow in a group. The darkness experience was a fun ending.

It is nice but if you... - It is nice but if you have seen lava caves before it can be skipped for what it cost. The experience is not very visual - you are basically in a black hole hearing geological explanations. The guide, Joseph, was very nice and funny.
