Absolute recommendation for all amateur chefs - Mohammed and his mother welcomed us warmly, we had a great time together! In addition to buying fresh ingredients at the market, we were also able to cook and learn more about the cuisine of Morocco and the country after dinner

Best Meal in Morocco - Hands down the best food we had in Morocco, and there were a lot of competition for the title! What a delicious treat to be able to cook Moroccan dishes alongside Mohamed and his mother, who worked as a chef! We came up with a menu with Mohamed’s help and went to the local market to pick up items. It was fun to see the options that were available locally! When we arrived to to Mohamed’s, we were welcomed into their cozy home by his lovely mother. We started cooking quickly and soon were learning how to get things done in the kitchen in ways we had never thought to do so before! Skills were definitely gained in this venture. It was great for everyone to eat together alongside Mohamed’s family and chat. In addition to nice conversation, what was heard was the sounds of joy as we tucked into every dish. Such a great experience; if you want to explore making Moroccan cooking, or honestly just have a tasty home-cooked meal, we highly recommend it!

Shopping and cooking Moroccan dishes in a Chef's home - The young guide who met us asked the open ended question of what we wanted to cook. I had little input since I'm not familiar with Moroccan food. Others on the tour knew more about Moroccan food and we decided on Chicken with preserved lemons and olives, and couscous with vegetables and lamb. We followed the guide as she visited several food stalls, a butcher and a grocer. Then we entered the chef's home and started preparing vegetables as she cooked. The small knives were not very good quality but we made do. We could always see what the chef was cooking. She knew some French and the guide interpreted in English. Finally we sat down to eat the main dishes and some side dishes and breads. Dessert was fried rounds of phyllo dough which we assembled in layers with pastry cream and fresh berries. Yum! My favorite main dish was the chicken with preserved lemons and olives.

Authentic, Welcoming, and Delicious - We had a wonderful experience with the Rabat Family Cooking Class! Our guide Zineb communicated clearly and helpfully, making everything smooth and welcoming. The class itself was a perfect mix of hands-on cooking and cultural immersion. Zineb and her lovely grandmother were incredibly gracious hosts, and they made us feel right at home. We appreciated the flexibility—they let us choose how involved we wanted to be in preparing the meal, and they fully accommodated our dietary preferences without missing a beat. The food we made was absolutely delicious, and we learned so much about Moroccan cooking traditions and local culture along the way. Zineb also gave us great travel tips that enhanced the rest of our time in Morocco. As a bonus, they took great photos throughout the experience and shared them with us afterward, which was such a thoughtful touch. This class was a highlight of our trip to Rabat, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and meaningful experience!

Please don't miss this in Rabat - What an incredible day spent with not only an amazing chef but also an amazing woman/women. Zineb met us at the meeting place promptly, decided on a menu then visited some amazing markets to shop for the ingredients. We decided on fish, various salads and a beautiful dessert. Najet got to work and put us to work chopping, grating, etc while she began to work her magic with various spices and veggies. The smells were mesmerizing. With the table set and the meal ready it was time to dig in. Wow! Taste buds were experiencing something special. What a gastronomical extravaganza. After the main course, it was time for dessert. Phyllo dough topped with a hand made custard with fresh strawberries and blackberries. Mmmmm. It's called Jawhara. Word of caution: come hungry. An abundance of food awaits you. Simply put it was a totally great day spent doing what I love: eating and meeting new friends.

Experience not to be missed - Very pleasant and rewarding experience, we learned a lot from our chef, Najet, supported by Zineb, with great care with us. We immediately felt “as a family”, the exchanges quickly went beyond the strictly culinary stage, especially during the shared lunch. We highly recommend this activity in Rabat.

Fantastic experience & wonderful food! - We totally loved this experience. I don’t usually book this kind of tour but really wanted to know more about delicious Moroccan food and I’m so glad we booked it. Mohammed is very friendly and knowledgable and after choosing a menu ( we wanted vegetarian and were given a number of options) he explained a lot about the market and choosing food etc which is just what I wanted. The event is in his local neighbourhood and he knows the market very well. His mother who is a professional chef, made us so welcome and made sure I was following everything so I could do it myself at home. It was such fun and both myself and my partner had a great night with lots of interesting chat about the culture and history of Morocco. The food was totally delicious. I would highly recommend Moroccan food tour and this class in particular!

Highly recommend this private cooking experience!! - This is fabulous! Walking through the market, they all know him and make suggestions along with his expertise we designed a menu for the day. Then to their home where I participated in preparing a traditional meal with his lovely and talented mother. They made me feel welcome and I learned tips I am taking home. We then shared the meal and I ate every bite!! I would do this again and recommend it to everyone coming to Rabat.

An interesting experience but we waited for more - The food was authentic and delicious. We first went to the local market together to buy the ingredients. However, it could have included us more in what is happening, for example explaining the way we negotiate, the ingredients, the preparation. It was a friendly experience but we would have liked if there were more explanations and learning as it is a "cooking course".
