Lung Tam Village - A visit to Lung Tam Village offers a glimpse into the daily life of the locals. Hmong women skillfully work with looms to craft exquisite brocade and linen pieces from flax fibers. Creating a fine brocade piece is a source of pride for Hmong women.
The primary material for weaving is flax fibers, so each Hmong woman has her own field for growing flax plants. After harvesting, the flax plants are soaked in water to extract the fibers, which are then rolled and steamed to soften them. Natural colors from forest leaves and wood are used to dye the fibers.
