Cotopaxi Volcano - The journey begins early at 8:45 AM when the driver picks up the group from the hotel or Quito Airport. The destination is Cotopaxi Province, en route to Banos City, home to the magnificent Cotopaxi Volcano.
The entrance to Cotopaxi is reached in approximately 2 hours, depending on traffic and Quito’s morning rush hour. The first stop is the museum, where visitors learn about the flora, fauna, and history of Cotopaxi. Afterward, the journey continues to Limpiopungo Lake for a short walk to enjoy the landscape and acclimate to the altitude.
The drive proceeds to the parking area at 4,500 meters, from where a hike to the Jose Rivas Refuge begins. Here, there is a chance to rest, enjoy something warm, and continue hiking up to 5,100 meters to reach the glaciers.
After spending time at Cotopaxi, the journey continues to Banos City for an overnight rest before the next day’s adventure. This tour requires a minimum of 2 people and accommodates up to 10.
Full Adventure: Rafting and Canyoning
Banos - The second day is packed with excitement, featuring canyoning and rafting activities. The rafting adventure starts in the morning at 9:00 AM, with a return around 1:00 PM (equipment, lunch, and photos are included).
In the afternoon, the next thrilling adventure is canyoning, a short 3-hour tour filled with high adrenaline and emotions (equipment, photos, and video included).
