A great overview of the highlights of Quito - We had a bucket list of things to see in Quito, but only one day to see them. On this tour, we saw almost all of them (except for the Teleférico - you can’t do everything!). We saw the beautiful countryside from Pululahua Reserve, the equator exhibits at Intinan Museum, more exhibits, including paintings by Oswaldo Guayasamin, at Ciudad Mitad del Mundo, the Basílica del Voto Nacional and the Old Town. We had a lovely lunch in the Old Town (cost on your own), toured and sampled at a chocolate distributor and viewed Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús. We drove up the hill where the 150 foot tall statue of Madonna towers over Quito. The views of Quito from here are spectacular. We drove to these sites in a very comfortable bus, with explanations from our knowledgeable and fun guide, Felipe. While we saw a lot, we never felt rushed. I have recommended this tour to friends who are visiting Quito. I highly recommend it.

Felipe is the best! - We spent three very full days with Felipe seeing the sites of Quito. I can't say enough positive things about him. He is very passionate about what he does. His English was good and he worked really hard to show us lots of exciting things about his country. Our first day was a Quito city tour. We hit the highlights (equator monument, teleferiqo, old town). Day two we went to see the condors and hike a lake near Antisana Volcano. This was simply amazing. Seeing these amazing endangered vultures was really memorable. Finally on day three he took us to Mindo where we hiked, saw the butterfly farm, saw how chocolate is made. I can't imagine going to Quito and not hiring Felipe to show you these amazing sights. After our last day touring he dropped us off at our hotel near the airport as we were leaving for Galapagos early in the am. Can't say enough great things about this tour guide, driver, ice hockey player! A special guy!
