Most excellent tour and super guide! - The Mindo Cloud Forest butterfly garden, hummingbird sanctuary, ski lift to mountain and coffee making tour were the best. Ximena was an incredible guide. She tailored our day tour to the desires of my sister-in-law and me. She explained very much about the flora and culture of the area and took pictures of the 2 of us to enjoy! We had a delicious paella lunch at a restaurant she recommended in Mindo. We thoroughly enjoyed the day!

Nature's Paradise - My friend and I took a 2 week escorted tour of Ecuador, and booked an extra day on our own. Upon researching day trips from Quito, we decided to take the Mindo Cloud Forest tour. Having booked online late the night before, we were a bit dubious about being picked up on time, let alone at all. But at 8AM sharp, our guide Ivan arrived at our hotel. Within minutes, we knew that we were in good hands. Someone had told us that we should stop enroute to Mindo at Pululauha Volcano. So we asked Ivan if this was possible, and without blinking, he agreed. It was well worth the detour. Ivan was a fantastic guide, providing the kind of information and detail of what we were seeing that you could never get from reading the usual travel resources. Once at Mindo, Ivan always offered us options of which hiking trails to take based on level of ease or difficulty, tempering our decision by what spectacular views awaited us at the end of each trail. We were never steered wrong. The consummate gentleman, Ivan always offered a helping hand when we were climbing over a challenging trail transition. We simply could not have asked for a better guide. Ivan deservedly sits way up at the top. As for the excursion itself, the trails to the waterfalls were lush with tropical foliage and flowers, the waterfalls a page out of a travel brochure. The butterfly sanctuary is a visual treat, and we were shown how to coax them to perch on, and feed from your finger. I even had a Blue Morpho hitchhiking on my knee. The magnificent birds we saw ran the gamut of every color (Tanagers, Fly Catchers, Toucanets). But the capper was our interaction with Hummingbirds. With Ivan's help, they were literally eating out of our hands. The sensation of those wee wings fluttering against your skin, and their tiny feet grasping onto your finger will remain a fond memory of our day trip to Mindo. In a word-GO!

Mindo Cloud Forest and so much more! - The tour was fantastic. The Hummingbird farm was beautiful. So many beautiful birds. The coffee tour below was wonderful! We got to meet the owner and took the tour and tasted the coffee. Highly recommend! Mindo Cloud Forest was beautiful. I would like to note it was VERY humid and I didn't take that into account and would have dressed differently. Chocolate tasting was AMAZING! We learned so much! Our guide and driver were excellent!

Great time in Mindo! - Guide was very knowledgeable of the area and wildlife. Great for kids and adults alike! Enjoyed the experience!!

It was a day of adventures - Our guide, Andres, picked us up at our hotel in Puembo. It is a couple of hours to get to the Cloud Forest. Our guide gave us a lot of information and history as he drove. Once in the Cloud Forest, we saw the silver trees, but were unable to get photos. The hummingbird stop was more of a private home, but the gardens were beautiful. Lots of different hummingbirds and birds. We did get to have the feeder in our hand to feed the hummingbirds. We then drove to Mindo and took the cable car across. We did the 20 minute hike and swam in that waterfall. It was a really strong current, so not able to stay in the water too long, but it was still fun. It is a hike back up, but we made it. We did a Chocolate Tour, which was fun and informative. Our guide pre-ordered our lunch at the restaurant next door, so once we were done with the Chocolate Tour our lunch was ready. Super good lunch. It is a drive back to our hotel. Overall we were happy with the day. Half your time is spent driving. Maybe a chance to stop for photos in the Cloud Forest would make the tour better.

Feed the hummingbirds - We had a great time with Carlos. He arrived on time to pick us up and gave a clear view of what to expect. We headed first to the cloud forest and hiked down a trail along which we shared interesting details about the ecosystem, flora and fauna. We spotted the rare Andean cock of the rock, toucans and humming birds. At the end of the trail, was a beautiful waterfall where we could swim. We next headed up hill to the cable car. The cable car offers amazing views of the cloud forest. We then went a butterfly sanctuary following which we made a quick pit stop in Mindo town for lunch. Post lunch we headed to the humming bird sanctuary. This was the highlight of the day. We subsequently headed back to Quito after a long but amazing day trip.

Be sure to visit while in Ecuador! - When you got to Mindo, the zip line is a must! It is a total of 10 zip lines and an unique way to see the Amazon forest. The hummingbird tour was amazing as well. The chocolate tour is very informative as well as tasty. It would be easy to spend two days in the Mindo cloud Forest. Wilson, our tour guy was great!

Highly recommend this company!!! - We did 2 tours. The first one was to mindo cloud forest. Our guide Wilson was amazing and LOVED HIM. We saw toucans and I ziplined through the Andes! Incredible! Second tour was of the city with Ximena, and we LOVED her, as well. Highly recommend both tours and this company! Thank you so much for such an incredible experience!
