Quitsato Sundial - Our first stop is at this cultural site built to measure the solstices and equinoxes, in pre-Hispanic times, it is also considered the “other half of the world”, since the line
equinoctial or equator crosses through this place and through the middle of the summit of the snow-capped Cayambe, which can be seen from this site. -
Fabrica de Bizcochos San Pedro - To get to know its gastronomy we have a stop to have a cup of Ecuadorian coffee or chocolate accompanied by cakes; which are like a type of small bread made in the oven with an unmatched flavor. The best of all is that we will learn
about its production process. - Miralago - We will make a stop at this viewpoint, the perfect place to take photographs and appreciate the landscape offered by Lake San Pablo and the mountains in the area.
-
Plaza De Los Ponchos Mercado - Our next stop is Otavalo which is located in
the province of Imbabura known as the Province of the Lakes. Once there we will visit the largest and most important indigenous craft market in South America. It is possible to visit this market every day of the week. But it is much bigger on Tuesdays and
Saturday. Here we can find all types of textiles, made by the inhabitants of the area, who preserve centuries-old artisan practices. - Otavalo - Lunch
- Laguna Cuicocha - Walk to the Cuicocha Lagoon viewpoint, known as “the lagoon of the gods”, within the Cotacachi-Cayapas Ecological Reserve. This lagoon is located inside the crater of the Cotacachi volcano.
- Cotacachi - Finally, we will visit the town of Cotacachi, famous for the production of leather crafts.
