Great way to get a taste of the Amazon! - Our guide Brian was amazing. He grew up locally and was great at explaining how the native live and use all the plants in the jungle. I thought this itinerary sounded ambitious, but we did everything on the description. The resort was very nice as well. Definitely recommend this tour as an awesome introduction to the Amazon

Nature and Authenticity in the Amazon - I traveled from Quito to the rainforest during Ecuador's Labor Day holiday and stayed for three nights. The nature walks, canoe ride, and visit to the local community were all memorable and expertly guided. This is a true Amazon experience — far from the highway and far from anything touristy. The lodge was livelier than usual due to the national holiday, but I never felt uncomfortable. In fact, it was nice to see both local and international travelers enjoying the Amazon together. One evening, a group of guests was filming content in traditional outfits... it seemed like a cultural project. The staff made sure everyone felt at ease, and when things got a bit loud, they kindly asked the group to move their activity to the riverside beach, which they did right away. I’d recommend this lodge to anyone looking for nature, authenticity, and excellent service.

Amazing Amazon experience - We had great time managed to see loads of different animals and the planned experiences were great, friendly and knowledgeable staff looked after us the whole time definitely recommend. Food is all fresh and local and tastes great, sometimes being in jungle things don’t go to plan cause of weather or other things for example our boat was late and we didn’t get to do river rafting cause the river was overflown cause of the rain but we don’t blame the staff at all and they even gave us a free cocktail to apologise Side note I have really big feet (13.5 uk) not blaming the lodge but if your feet are bigger than a size 10 uk size bring your own wellies/waterproof boots you’ll need 10/10 definitely worth the money

Absolutely amazing! - From start to finish this tour was everything we could have hoped for! Erick (driver) arrived on time and taught us so much along the way. Please note there is significant climate change from Quito to the Amazon so I definitely recommend layers! Upon arrival to the hotel in the Amazon we were greeted by our guide Brian who is clearly passionate about the work he does. He was so knowledgeable and accommodating. We upgraded our room to the jacuzzi suite and there were only twin beds. Staff promptly carried down another bed for our son and turned ours into a king size bed. Lunch was delightful and the hammock on our suite was so relaxing! The tours were exactly as advertised and so informative! We especially loved the visit to anaconda island (read:no actual anacondas here) and the rescue center. Some important things to know: 1) book a massage! Seriously the best massage my husband and I have ever had. Mine was in the afternoon at 4:30 and it started raining which perfected the ambience. I did the chocolate exfoliant and massage for 90 min and my husband did a 60 min deep tissue. We have very different styles for massage and both were perfect with the same masseuse. 2) there is no power 2-6 at the resort. Both am and pm. This also means no wifi but lots of time to experience the pool and make new friends! The 2-6am was rough because it is hot with no fan. I would recommend packing a little battery operated fan for comfort! 3) bug spray! Obvious right?! I don’t mean while you are out trekking, obviously bug spray and full clothing helps. I mean at night after your shower! A majority of our bites occurred while we were sleeping but this is the Amazon so we did expect some bites and prepare! Pack Benadryl or antihistamine to help with the itch. 4) remember what a blessing it is to be able to experience this beauty! Sit on the second level of the bar and take in the beauty, watch the nature! It is hot, there are bugs, but it’s also a magical place!

It was a Nice place and... - It was a Nice place and with several activities but with very little time in the real forest and well preserved areas. The zone is very transformed into ranches and plantations so it is more a cultural than a natural experience of the selva region

A great experienced - The tour was a great experience. We were collected by a private taxi from our hotel in Quito and driven 4 1/2 hours to the lodge. When we arrived it was raining very heavily there is a five minute walk on a trail which was very muddy We were glad we had left our large suitcases At the hotel in Quito. On arrival we were given a local drink and told the times for breakfast lunch and dinner We were advised they have power cuts from 11 to 3pm and 8 to midnight which added to the experience that you were in the jungle and it was great to walk around with torches and candle lights. highly recommend the tour the naturalist guides were very knowledgeable and they made the trip memorable. Reading the comments from past guests about being hungry. We found the food was plentiful It had flavour and the chef used local ingredients you was not left hungry! The schedule is vey action packed with lots of activities throughout the day once the tour started the guides explained to you what to wear and what to expect. The only negative comment there was no clear schedule so we did not know what we were doing. A very easy fix could solve this problem by a notice board or timetable could be in your room this is the same at meal times you had no idea what the menu was. For a two night trip highly recommend did not see much wildlife You need to go deeper into the jungle and spend at least 5 days. We recommend upgrading The room to the jungle suite for the extra $50per night. The tour ended in Tena And we got the local bus back to Quito for 9 dollars pp vs a private taxi for $130

This tour was actually... - This tour was actually hosted by the Suchipakari lodge, which sits in a quite rural and isolated place. The staffs were very nice and friendly. Food were good too. Room was very nice, but without air conditioning. Fan was available though which helped a lot. The biggest issue was the communication. We were supposed to be picked up by an English-speaking guide at 8:00am, but at last minute, we were asked to leave at 5:00am without explanation. The driver who picked us up could not speak any English. According to the itinerary, the driver was supposed to stop at a few scenery places and explain to us what they are. However, due to communication issue, we only stopped at two places, and the driver took some pictures on us to fulfill his task, I guess. After 2/3 of the trip, the English-speaking guide finally hopped on and showed us the monkey beach. Our guide, Carlos was very nice and knowledgeable. He showed us different plants, gave us a night walk to see different insects. Next day he guided us to take a long (~45 minutes) forest walk to get onto the canoe. This forest walk was indeed pretty tough since it was raining pretty heavily and road condition was pretty bad: muddy, slippery, crossing the very shaky bridge. We had to do two of this walk, going there to meet the canoe, and coming back after the canoe ride. Speaking about the canoe, the driver was very experienced, I can tell. However, the life jacket was not enforced, which was extremely dangerous, given that we were traveling along the Napo River! However, I understand why some passengers did not want to wear the life jacket since they were so dirty! Overall this was an interesting experience for us. I just wish the communication could be better so we would be able to enjoy more about this trip.

it’s overpriced in my opinion - the tour guides and drivers were super nice . Room was nice too ( we upgraded to jungle view ) . it was nice but if i had a chance to do it again i would not spend money on it . Breakfast was very small and very simple ( we were hungry all day ) . Lunch that we had on a tour was very poor . Dinners were good but late and we were so hungry waiting for them . prices for drinks and massages are very high for Ecuador. the tour itself…i was not too impressed with program . it would be ok for half price or if you travel solo but 2 of us paid almost 1000$ with upgraded and it felt like it was too much . the grand ceibo trail was advertised as trekking . But it was actually just a walk around hotel which was still nice but not as advertised. hotel is far away from Quito and when we arrived we still had to walk quiet a bit to the hotel . the main program was scheduled for 2nd day . While it sounded like a lot on paper , we started at 9 am and were back at 3:30 pm . Animal rescue center was nice but don’t expect that you will get to feed or play with animals. These animals are meant to be released back in a while ( some not ) . But you will not get close to them. Basically , i was not impressed with the whole arrangements and felt like it was not worth it . We travel a lot ( it was my 9th country this year ) , so i can tell the difference between quality and just what was advertised. one thing i have to mention: our tour guides : Brian and Carlos were amazing . they really tried to make it as special as they could . thank you for that . and remember: the tour will not end back in Quito . You will have to pay additional 130$ to get back which was weird. But we got an hour and a half to spend at hot springs on the way back . Also : no hot water in our room few times at all . they had power off 2 times a day and because of that we had no wifi and no hot water but because our room was high up , we did not get cold water either

They’re turning the lodge into a bop house - This review is about the SUCHIPARK lodge the tour was on . It was empty the first night , the second they bring all these people to make some content , all of these people were p*rn actors (I don’t know who is in charge of marketing but selling a family vacation with p*rn/onlyf**S people ) they were filming everywhere, you were not able to use the pool or anything unless you wanted to be in the videos and online . Very noisy , also the activities were nothing as advertised, the “wild nature walks “ is basically a 20 min walk around the resort . Please choose other lodge and another activity’s maybe . But avoid this place .
