Perfect guided tour w/ food and drinks! - I chose Viator for my excursion “off the ship” It was the best decision I have made to book other than the ship’s excursions. It was much more personable and the groups we smaller giving you the opportunity to actually meet and talk with people I. Your group. The ruins were interesting and the lagoon was big and beautiful. Loved the tacos and drinks that’s came with the package. The people were so nice. Totally recommend.

Fantastic experience, local, which I recommend to everyone! - We got off our MSc cruise ship and in 10 minutes we walked to the meeting point. Everything went great. Our guide Joel is very knowledgeable. Careful at the time of our return by ship and to make us feel good, made everything very pleasant. Very good tacos and Mayan ruins with fabulous explanations. I recommend everyone to support this local agency. They live off it, and they're very good at it.

Ruins plus Relaxation! - Joel was an exactly knowledgeable tour guide while at the ruins. Maggie was an amazing personal tour guide and had so much great information for us on the rides to the locations and Tacho drove us well. We especially loved the 7 Colors Lagoon, we were surprised to find out it is fresh water. We enjoyed the kayaks, swimming in the beautiful water and relaxing after the ruins walking. We walked 13k steps on this day, so wear comfy shoes!

Great Family Day - Amazing Day visiting the ruins and 7 color lagoon with Joel. Joel was very knowledgeable of the area and shared so much history that you didn’t notice you were on an hour drive. The ruins were beautiful as was the 7 color lagoon

Great excursion! - The ruins were great and we learned alot from our personal guide David at the ruins. Maggie was our guide on the shuttle and she was fantastic too. The tacos and fajitas at Bacalar Lagoon were great. I would highly recommend this tour.

Mayan ruins. - The tour turned out to be good. I booked the tour in February. The day before the tour I received an email with instructions/directions on where to meet the tour operator. Upon arrival, I was told that the excursion was canceled? Then I was told that the tour operator said I canceled my excursion? The message stated meet at Native Choice, but the excursion was handled by Next Experience Travel for Viator. I was totally devastated. The people at Native Choice just happened to have 2 spots still available and were able to accommodate me. The tour ended up being good and the guide was fantastic. The fajita lunch was the best. Disappointed that you couldn't see the ruins more, couldn't get a sense of mayan life. You could only take pics of the outside. As far as Bacalar. It was nice, but 7 colors was not apparent probably due to the sun. Overall an okay day! While I would recommend the tour, it's not worth the price. A long day, lot of driving!

This was a great trip. Great guide. - The trip was great. Reasonably priced and we were able to spend an adequate amount of time at the ruins and the lagoon. But traffic and construction really shortened our time at both places. Tip We had some difficulty figuring out how to get out of the port tourist area to get to Native Tours. Under the stairs is an exit, you can go out there (even though the sign doesn’t clearly say that) and then follow the sidewalk in the middle of the roads until you get to Native Tours.

Wasted time and money. - We got off to a bad start from the start. We arrived at the meeting point with a tour reserved for the 29th of April, in the tickets appears that date, but when we arrived they had the reservation for the 15th of May. In the end they changed it, put some bracelets on us and left us waiting on a bench. Within half an hour we are put in a van with other groups, on our tour we were 2 people plus 2 others. After half an hour of driving we are put in another van to take us to the ruins to take the guided tour, by the way, hired in Spanish and was in English. Surprise! We reached the middle of the tour and missed almost every explanation. Point to David, the guide, who was concerned when we arrived and devoted some more time to us as much as possible. Once the tour ended we had to wait for a van to go to Bacalar. They had us waiting 50 minutes without being able to do anything! A disgrace! When the van finally arrived we were told that we were taking 25 minutes to Bacalar and again surprise! 1.10 hours of driving. Already in Bacalar we were well served but we had much less time than bought on the tour and we could only take a quick swim, eat a few tacos and 15 minutes of kayaking. After finishing we were given another trip until the cruise of 1.30 hours. In short. We paid for a tour we missed more than half of and 3/4 were to be expected and driving.
