Participating in a Zukia Park night walk in the Manuel Antonio region presents a special chance to witness the rainforest’s nocturnal marvels. As night descends, the forest awakens with a chorus of sounds and activities from its nighttime residents. Led by knowledgeable naturalists, participants will navigate safe trails using flashlights and UV lights to observe a variety of creatures. Commonly spotted are tree frogs, nocturnal birds, snakes, spiders, and scorpions. With some luck, one might also see nocturnal mammals such as anteaters, coatis, raccoons, deer, ocelots, opossums, armadillos, kinkajous, or sloths. These tours not only allow for wildlife viewing but also provide insights into the flora that supports forest life. It is advisable to wear long pants and closed shoes, and to bring rain gear and a charged cell phone for photos. Be sure to visit the butterfly garden, reptilian lagoon, and a hanging bridge.
