- Manuel Antonio National Park - The tour begins with a brief overview of the facilities, trails, and beach areas that will be explored during the 3-hour guided tour. Recommendations will be provided based on the season and the type of group attending.
As previously mentioned, the tour will proceed in the opposite direction (anti-clockwise) of the usual operators and guides. This approach aims to reduce crowding and noise, allowing participants to focus on the tour’s purpose: observing local wildlife, learning about iconic tropical species, and capturing great photos or videos if possible.
Commonly spotted species include both types of sloths, monkeys, bats, agoutis, tree frogs, toucans, and even snakes.
- Playa Espadilla Sur - Due to the reverse direction of the tour, this will be the first beach encountered, located at the end of the elevated boardwalk or Sendero Universal El Manglar. During the dry season (January to May), Playa Espadilla Sur’s waves are typically calm and gentle, but they can become rough with a strong “Backwash” on the steeper sandbars. Look out for sea turtle tracks on the beach, and with some luck, you might see baby sea turtles emerging from their nests. Showers and bathrooms are available for use.
- Playa Manuel Antonio - Known as one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches, Manuel Antonio Beach offers a stunning contrast of green, white, and blue, where the forest meets the beach and ocean. It is perfect for swimming with family or group members who are older or with children. Showers and bathrooms are available for use.
