I am a local guide who loves my job and I am more passionate about what I do every day! If you want to learn about the natural history of the animals of Costa Rica and see the three-clawed sloths smile at you and move with great patience, I am the right person to show you our natural beauties! It will be a pleasure for me to be your guide in my office, the Manuel Antonio National Park!

The meeting point is the Joseth Super Market, this is 50 meters from the main entrance of the Manuel Antonio National Park and there you will find some tables (seating area) where you can wait for me! Next to this supermarket is the closest parking lot to the national park “

Alonso made our time in Manuel Antonio a breeze! - We had such a great tour of the park with Alonso to kick off our visit to the area. He explained so much about Costa Rica and its plants and animals. He is amazing with kids and explained everything in a way that our children were engaged and actually remember a lot of the information. He also arranged some incredible excursions for our family. His communication was top-notch and we highly recommend Alonso!

Amazing Tour with Alonso at Manuel Antonio National Park! - Our family had the most incredible experience at Manuel Antonio National Park, all thanks to our fantastic tour guide, Alonso! From the moment we met him, it was clear how passionate he is about the park and its wildlife. He was so engaging and great with our kids, making the whole experience enjoyable for everyone. Alonso's knowledge of the park and its animals was impressive—he pointed out so many incredible creatures that we would have easily missed on our own, including monkeys, sloths, bats, lizards, birds, and even a snake! His enthusiasm was contagious, and it made the day even more special. If you're looking for an unforgettable tour with an expert guide who truly loves what he does, we highly recommend Alonso! It was an unforgettable day, and we left with wonderful memories of Costa Rica’s natural beauty.

Highly Recommended - Alonso kept us informed ahead of the day and even sent us instructions - including a video - of exactly where to park. We met up, as arranged and Alonso took us on a fascinating and engaging tour of the park and its wildlife. He was able to spot the animals that we hadn’t even noticed, and show us several different species through his scope/phone combo. He’s a friendly and funny guy, with perfect spoken English, who encourages lots of questions and his tour exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended!

Great Experience and Communication - Alonso was a fantastic guide for our private tour of Manuel Antonio National Park. Beforehand there was great communication and clear directions for parking and expectations. During the tour he was knowledgeable and friendly always communicating with other guides to make sure we saw many different animals and getting good views of them along with giving us options. Highly recommend Alonso! Tips and thoughts-At the park you cannot take any food or disposable bottles in. At the end of our time with Alonso there was a small restaurant to get food and drinks with a very long line where you sit in caged area while consuming them. After this area there are the beaches. We chose to get a smoothie only (can buy in the souvinear area so you don’t have to stand in the line), walk out of the park, get a real lunch, and go to the public beach which is the same as the park with less people and restrictions plus we got an umbrella and chairs from someone on the beach. Overall great experience.

Nice visit - We had a very nice time. He was very knowledgeable and interesting. I preferred other national parks in Costa Rica over Manuel Antonio because there were many people but he showed us many camouflaged animals and took pictures through a telescope which we could then keep. Super cool!

Wonderful - Alonso was a wealth of knowledge and spotted animals that there is no way we would have ever seen had we not been with him. Wonderful experience, you simply cannot go to Manuel Antonio Park and have this experience without a guide and especially without Alonso.

Extremely knowledgeable, entertaining, avoids the crowds - Alonso was by far one of the best guides during our week in Costa Rica. He is passionate about his job and is extremely knowledgeable about the biodiversity of Manuel Antonio National Park. We highly recommend him!

Terrific tour for adults and big kids - Great experience for older kids (8+) and adults. The small creatures that Diego pointed out were so fascinating! We also got to see a smiley sloth and white-faced monkeys at the end of the tour. However, our 5-year old and 6-year old were not old enough to pay attention at each stop and lost interest in the tour (which meant an adult had to stop participating to entertain them). They loved the beach and the bigger animals they could see with their eyes, and were interested in some of the plants. I suggest having a special tour for kids from 4-8 years that moves quickly and skips some of the small creatures. In sum, adults and big kids will love the pace and the creatures, but this is not the best for younger kids.
