Mulguri is considered a natural paradise for those whom want to be in harmony with nature, in a place that has an astounding beauty working Hand in Hand with Nature, far from the noise of the vehicles and the city.
On 1hour trip from Manuel Antonio, passes through small local villages, natural springs, rainforest and then into the remote back country of this area known as Quebrada de Arroyo.
The access to the waterfalls is possible by walking a trail down steps heading to a pristine and safe waterfall area that resembles a natural Jacuzzi with various depths for the security and enjoyment of all. There are in total 3 waterfalls, 1 water drop 4 natural swimming pools.
The Property is surrounded by mountains with green leafy forests and located right at the foot of the mountain.
The typical Costa Rican lunch is made by a local family, have lunch in their house and explore the local cultural and the rural tourism

A hike to spectacular waterfalls - Today (August 27, 2025) we did a private tour with a great guide (unfortunatly I forgot his name) to the Mulguri Waterfalls. It was one of our best adventures in Costa Rica so far. The tour included a hike to four beautiful waterfalls and a great lunch with a local family. Swimming under the waterfalls and enjoying the invitation of a local family was lovely. I highly recommend to do the tour.

Real Costa Rica ! - One of our favorite days is Costa Rica. This was a long and a little rough ride up in the mountains from Shana by the beach resort, but absolutely beautiful. We saw Macaws on the way, and out Diego our guide was wonderful to stop and let us take photos. He did a great job of taking up and down the trails to the falls and let us take time for photos and swimming. We had the whole mountain side to ourselves. Surprisingly, highlight of the trip was he took us to a nearby family’s farm, the my lived on the hillside and had chicken and farm animals. They invited us into their humble little home and made a wonderful Costa Rican meal with everything grown from their farm. This was so authentic we loved the how happy and self sustained they lived miles from town. If you want to see the real Costa Rica take this tour with this company.

Must DO! Don’t leave CR without seeing the waterfalls - This was our favorite day and activity. Ricardo was a brilliant host and incredibly knowledgeable about the history. Getting away from the busy area of Quepos and I tk the Mount Raina was magical! Ask for Ricardo, he was the best!

Excellent tour to the Mulguri waterfalls! - The trip to the waterfalls was excellent! It was one of our highlights in Costa Rica. Julian is an exceptional tour guide. The Costa Rican lunch was such a special touch to an already amazing tour!

Adventurous experience to see water falls, go on a hike, see wildlife, and eat Costa Rican food made by a family. - This tour was a lot of fun for our families to experience the more remote areas of Costa Rica! The guides were amazing with our kids and us. The water falls are beautiful. Lunch was delicious and a great cultural experience for us all. I would definitely encourage the tour! Julian was an amazing guide who was attentive to our two sons with higher needs and helped us ensure their safety and experience.

Adventure and learning with Julian - We have been so lucky to find this tour. Julian our guide along with Moses and Juan Carlos (part of the Mulguri team) picked us up very early in our hotel in an all-terrain vehicle and we knew that the day would be outside the tourist area.
The tour was with great views and Julian shared history, culture and curious facts of the communities we were passing as we moved away from the masses of tourists.
When we arrived at the beginning of the walk we discovered Julian’s passion and great knowledge about the flora and fauna of the place, he was giving us curious data, scientific names, and with his eagle sight he managed to show us tiny lives that without him we would not have seen.
The place is incredibly beautiful and the food delicious, but for me it was Julian who made this trip so special as I as a passionate nature enthusiast could learn a lot.
This tour proved to be a good mix of adventure, culture, history and a lot of biodiversity all thanks to Julian.

Mulguri Falls Tour - This was the best tour we did here in Costa Rica. The waterfalls were beautiful. Bit of a hike but we are in our early 70s and we managed ok. The tour included a delicious lunch at a small private home in the middle of nowhere. Our guide Julian spoke perfect English and was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. I believe he really enjoyed his job. The driver, Juan Carlos was very good. Highly recommend this tour

One of the best tours yet! - The tour to Mulguri Waterfall is one of the best tours I have taken. Especially if you want to be in nature as it was intended to be. We were picked up at our hotel in a big 4x4 vehicle with our wonderful driver Juan Carlos and our two tour guides Julian Sanchez and Yanan Barboza. We could not have asked for a better team. Their knowledge and professionalism combined with their kindness and great personalities made this such a memorable trip ! We drove about an hour from our hotel deep into the jungle accessible only by 4x4 vehicles. We saw some beautiful trees and flowers and were told about the history of the area. Once we arrived there were bathrooms to stop at and then a hike down to the waterfall. The guides were so good to make sure we knew where to step and not to fall… it had rained the night before so things were a little slippery. We stopped at a hanging bridge on the way and the views from the bridge were incredible. Then we went on to the waterfall and were able to get in the water at the bottom of the falls . It was not only refreshing but captivating as the water fell and you were able to feel the current. They kindly took some pictures for us and then we headed to the second waterfall. They told us about various plants and animals as we saw a species of frog, a very colorful worm and the leaf carrying ants that can go for many meters from the next to retrieve the leaves. These guys had a wealth of knowledge and it was a joy to learn from them. After the second waterfall ( we were given as much time as we wanted at each one ) we went to a family’s home there near the falls and had an authentic Costa Rican meal from a precious family. It was delicious and the family was so welcoming . Afterwards we headed back to our hotel and were able to thank the three of them. These guides were the best ! And Juan Carlos was the best driver ! I highly recommend this tour !!

Wonderful experience highly recommended! - This trip was absolutely incredible! Our guide, Bati, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I traveled with my amazing 85-year-old mom, and Bati went above and beyond to ensure her safety and comfort, even bringing her walking sticks. The lunch at Casa Don Juanita was delicious as well. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!
