Experience the thrill of rafting on the Kawarau River, famously known as the River Anduin from Lord of the Rings, for an exciting half-day adventure in Queenstown. This activity is ideal for beginners looking to try whitewater rafting. Enjoy the thrill of numerous rapids while also taking in the breathtaking scenery. A complimentary shuttle will transport you from the town center to the rafting base, where all necessary equipment will be provided.
The rafting journey spans 8 kilometers of the river, featuring grade 2-3 rapids and occasionally grade 2-4 rapids during higher water levels. Between the rapids, enjoy calm stretches where you can race against friends on other rafts or take a refreshing swim. The adventure concludes with the Dog Leg, New Zealand’s longest commercially rafted rapid, stretching 400 meters and rated grade 3/4. For added excitement, participate in the optional cliff jumping segment, or simply relax and watch your friends take the plunge.
