You have to try it! - What a fun, exhilarating, and immersive experience! This was our first time doing canyoning, and Pepijn was our guide and did a fantastic job on our tour and we had a blast, while also making sure we were safe. We felt totally confident going into our experience. All such beautiful surroundings and such a cool overall experience. Highly recommend!

Do this trip! It is amazing! - We did the half day canyoning trip with Brig. It was an amazing experience! traversing the canyon was so surreal, climbing over rocks, wading through streams, sliding down waterfalls, the fresh smell of nature. We did the trip with 2 kids ages 12 and 10 with no canyoning experience. Brig was amazing in giving instructions and patient as we made our way along. It was thrilling but still felt very safe. Highly recommended!

Great experience in the Gibbston Valley - Had a great time with guide Brig and the other participants on this adventure down Gibbston Valley. It isn't for the faint hearted but I always felt safe due to Brig's instruction, encouragement and the detailed safety briefing. A great experience - I picked it for what was forecast to be a wet weather afternoon as an ant weather activity (when you are wet, you are wet). Highly recommend.

Amazing experience - My favorite activity in Queenstown! This was such a great activity. I went with my daughter and another family. The brochures don’t do it justice. We had the most amazing time. It was accessible to most anyone, you don’t have to be a top athlete but had enough excitement and activity to keep most engaged. Repelled down waterfalls, beautiful scenery. Top marks all the way through.

1st Time Canyoning - Great way to spend our first time canyoning. Ross was an excellent guide. Wet suits kept us warm. The hardest part for me was scaling the rocky cliffs but Ross jumped in to help me and my husband when we doubted we could do it.

Great fun for us first-timers!! - Fantastic for first-time adult Cantonese!! Husband and I are newly empty-meters. We took a bucket trip to New Zealand and totally enjoyed this canyoning tour. Brig was our tour guide: he is very knowledgeable and very patient because I got a little scared at 2 spots, and he made it easy for me to have fun getting myself thru the rocks and climbs. It is totally a ton of fun. I was also impressed with the quality of the equipment, especially the boots — wonderful equipment! Thank you, Brig, for a great afternoon. We could not have asked for me!!

Do NOT Book with Canyoning NZ – Complete Scam! - My friend and I booked a canyoning tour in Queenstown with Canyoning NZ and had the worst experience. The company refuses to provide a full refund of $397, and now they’re ignoring my emails. Based on my experience, I strongly urge others to stay away from this business. Misleading Terms and Conditions Their terms are confusing and misrepresented. They hide behind a vague "48-hour cancellation policy," which is irrelevant since we didn’t cancel the tour. Instead, the guide deemed one of us "unsuitable" only after we arrived, leaving no option to cancel beforehand for a refund. Their terms are ambiguous and one-sided, contradicting consumer protection laws like the Fair Trading Act 1986 and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. Unclear Suitability Requirements We were told the tour was beginner-friendly, suitable for ages 10 to 60, and required no prior experience. Yet, one of us was deemed unsuitable despite being in good health and meeting all the advertised requirements (confident in water, able to navigate slippery terrain, and comfortable with heights). The guide’s decision seemed subjective and unfair, particularly as our group included more experienced participants, making us feel like we were singled out for being slower. Misleading Advertising Their marketing claims the tour is an “introductory course” with “no prior experience needed.” However, this was far from the truth. The guide offered no support or encouragement, contrary to what was promised, and instead pressured us to leave the tour multiple times. Their website's glowing customer reviews paint a false picture of the experience, and the lack of clarity around "moderate fitness levels" makes their advertising highly misleading. Failure to Deliver the Service We didn’t receive the canyoning adventure we paid for. The company claims they "met us, dressed us, and took us into the canyon," but that is preparation—not the service itself. By deeming one of us unsuitable and refusing to allow us to participate as a pair, they failed to deliver the service described. Unreasonable Business Practices As another reviewer, Brendan, pointed out, this company scams customers out of refunds, for whatever reason. They split our group without offering a choice to proceed or refund the payment. Their refusal to take responsibility shows a lack of professionalism and respect for their customers. Final Thoughts Avoid this company at all costs. They will take your money, deny refunds, and ignore your concerns. I will be reporting them to the Commerce Commission and other consumer protection authorities for their unfair and misleading practices. Don’t let them scam you like they did me. Julianna, if you’re reading this (because I know you monitor reviews for damage control), do the right thing and refund us the full amount. Don’t let Canyoning NZ scam you out of your hard-earned money.
