Quba - Tour itinerary
Road to Quba.
Galakhudat & Khinalig Hiking Tour usually starts at 07:30 AM with picking guests up from their location within Baku.
First stop is the Quba district which is best known for its production of incredibly delicious apples and fine carpets. It takes about 3 hours to get there.
There we will switch our cars to Niva Ladas and UAZs, that are more convenient to get to them mountain village. -
Kalaykhudat - Road to Galakhudat Village.
It takes approximately an hour from Quba district to Galakhudat village. You will see beautiful views of the village all along this way. There are many places where you would like to pull off and take some pictures. -
Xinaliq - Hike to Khinalig Village.
This little village is located at the distance of 8 km from Galakhudat village.
Khinalig village is one of the oldest and highest settlements in whole Azerbaijan and Caucasus dated by some around 5000 years old. It is located high up in the mountains of Quba district at the height of 2287 meters above sea level. In Khinalig you will have some time to walk and get familiarized with the village. Its residents, numbering about 2,000, still retain unique cultural traditions and speak their own language.
Lunch Break.
As soon as we reach Khinalig village, local family will host us, so we will have lunch prepared with traditional Caucasian mountain recipe. All products used in preparation of the food is locally and organically grown.
The End of the Tour.
At the end of the tour (approximately at 20:00) the driver will drop you off to your location in the city center of Baku.

Great hike! - The hike was great! Even with the fog and snow, the mountain is still great! Sabina was a friendly and hospitable host, and the village people welcomed me warmly. The peak was hidden by clouds, which made me want to do this one day in summer.

Amazing Hiking and Great hospitality by BagBaku - Highly recommended. - Fantastic experience.
I found this tour through their instagram page and contacted bag baku. They responded immediately and next thing i know is that i am in the most beautiful part of the Caucasian mountains.
Firstly about the place and hiking - The place is something magical. the foggy weather made the hiking feel like i am having some magical experience. The hiking was fairly easy and it was worth spending a day out of the city life
Secondly about Bagbaku - Their hospitality and attention to details made me feel so comfortable. The guide was so polite and so respectful. they were making sure that we have enough water, food with us before starting the hiking. They even took us to one of the houses in Xinaliq village and we had a very nice time interacting with the locals and had the tea and jam which they made. The guide was updating us about the weather forecast before the trip.

Amazing View. Best hiking experience - Xinaliq hiking tour was really amazing. I will highly recommend for those who love the nature and wants to spend some time in this beautiful mountains. Bag baku was amazing in making sure every single thing was well managed. They put our safety and comfort as their first priority. The guide was so friendly.

Beautiful hike... - ... and a great day with our guide Nurlan. Everything went very smooth. Nurlan was responsive on WhatsApp the moment I contacted him, and helped me to put a plan together for the day.
Pick-up from the hotel was punctual, and we had an approx 3 hours drive into the mountains where we changed into a Lada and then continued to a mountain village. From there, we hiked to another village. The hike itself is about 10 km and not very strenuous as you stay at the the same altitude level (2200m). Views were breathtaking. At the end of the trip we had a lunch in a local farmhouse and then walked back to the car, and drove back into Baku. Nurlan was knowledgeable about the environment and shared many interesting insights.
All in all, a perfect day, and highly recommended!
