Had an amazing time! - My boyfriend and I had a great time! We were a little worried because it was pouring, but our guides went the extra mile to make sure we were able to see the bioluminescence safely. I would absolutely recommend this experience.

Great tour/guide - Our guide was amazing with the kids. He was patient and friendly, and made the tour more memorable ✨️ the bioluminescent is something my daughter has wanted to see for a long time. She loved it.

Magical Paquera - Amazing! We really enjoyed our paddle and it was so cool seeing the bioluminescence! Felt very safe with a stable kayak and water very calm. The owner/operator was very helpful and the tour guide did a great job. Thank you!

Amazing w/ some room for improvement - This was an amazing experience! But, it was not perfect, hence the 4 stars. First, we had a little trouble finding accurate info on where to meet our guide. While it's easy to find the ferry they are next to, the rest was not clear. There was no on land instruction or overview given at all as we were hustled off to the kayaks. We were given life jackets and paddles and divided up into double kayaks. I had to stop them to request a dry bag, but was happily offered one once I asked. We were kept together as a small group and felt safe. I will say that everyone in my family had water and kayak experience though. Paddling and watching the water flash a glorious bright blue when the paddle splashed was pretty amazing. When we were led to a small beach to get out of the kayaks for some wading around it was frustrating that no one had checked that the water was clear of any large obstacles. I tripped on a rock and scraped a large area of my calf and shin on an even bigger rock in the water, which did not feel great, especially in salt water. But I was really determined to put it aside to enjoy a once in a lifetime experience, so I tried to tough it out. The guides gave a brief talk about the science of bioluminescence and we were all awe struck by the blue glow and it was like swimming among the stars. I only wish we could have stayed longer! Overall it was a great experience. I do think it would be wise to add a brief 5 minute on-land overview and to have someone go out and check the route before the evening tours for obstacles or anything else that could be unsafe once it's dark. Clear instructions on where to meet would also be great.

Super cool tour and unique experience - How cool was this?!! It was our first experience seeing bioluminescence and I was mesmerized by it. Our guide was a little too soft spoken, but very kind, very attentive, and clearly focused on making sure we had a great experience. The paddling was easy, not at all difficult, even for us rookies. We did the tour at sunset so we went out when there was still a little bit of light and it was pretty neat to be out paddling in the coves in the dark. If you haven't seen bioluminescence, I would highly recommend this tour! I gave a rating of 4 instead of 5 because, 1) it would have been nice if we would have received more information about where to part and where, exactly, to meet in an email after booking (we got a little bit of direction, but not enough), and 2) the place we launched from was not awesome with lots of debris washing up on a boat ramp which you had to wade through to get in the kayak and then pretty rocky where we got out.

Worthwhile experience - We set off in the kayaks after sunset, after 6 p.m. The destination was a bay about 20 minutes from the starting point. By now it was quite dark. We stayed in the bay for quite some time and enjoyed the spectacle. It was really fantastic and it was worth it for us at least. It would have been possible to swim there. What I didn't like was the poor communication between the two guides and the 13 of us participants. I found the return trip in the dark, partly along rocks, particularly dangerous. It was difficult not to lose contact. The guide who was driving ahead did have a green flashing light, but it only worked occasionally and was pointed forward. The provider gives the impression that they assume that everyone can kayak. Despite everything, the tour is worthwhile for the price. A life jacket was provided. It is advisable to bring a small waterproof bag with you and a beach towel for afterwards. A little water also gets into the kayak, which causes wet clothes.

Not safe - This experience is not safe for families. We are a family of 7 and were separated. They completely lost the kayak with our teenagers in it (13 and 15) and left my 63 year old mother by herself to eventually find her way to our starting point and dock all by herself: we never saw the guide who was with her again. She fell 3 times trying to bring the kayak on shore by herself. Me and my husband were with our 6 and 8 year old and had no problems, but that is because we were lied to and believed the other tour guide when she said our family was safe. The guide told us our mother and daughters were together and with the other guide headed back to the starting point to use a boat because they were tired. This was not true. Both our daughters and my mother were told “wait here, I will come back for you,” and then left to fend for themselves. We literally never saw the second guide who was with them again, even after docking at the end of the experience. Our daughters ended up rowing to a local hotel and calling my cellphone with the help of a stranger. Our tour guide Maria didn’t have the cell number of the other guide and was too busy flirting with 2 young men in one of the kayaks: she was obsessed with their hair and seemingly unconcerned with her charges. The owner did offer to take my girls and mom out on the boat afterward but they were too terrified. He obviously knew that they really messed up before I did since I still believed what the guide had been telling us. Once we found out what really happened I called to talk to the owner but he didn’t really want to hear any of the details which doesn’t give me any confidence that this won’t happen again. He did have another tour company take us out the next night in a boat and it was a good experience, which is why I give it 2 stars instead of 1. If he had asked me for details or sounded like he was interested in fixing any of the problems instead of making excuses, maybe I would have hope for changes to be made, but that was not the case. We also work in tourism and I cannot imagine running my business like this: I would want to know every detail in order to rectify every mistake especially when these were very dangerous mistakes. They were lucky our girls are strong and have common sense, and that my mom didn’t have any serious injuries from her many falls. Even though I made sure to tell them that my family had no experience kayaking, we were never asked or given any kind of guidance as to how to row or control the kayaks. I was actually the one who made some of our family switch places so that the stronger person was in the back: there just wasn’t any guidance from the “guides” from the beginning. This is a terrible disaster waiting to happen: beginner children and senior citizen left to fend for themselves in the ocean at night on kayaks. There are other companies who offer these tours: stay safe and book with them

Impressive but un informative - The bioluminescence themselves are really worth seeing and the fireflies in the air are beautiful, but I wouldn’t recommend our guide, he rarely spoke throughout the entire tour and when he did you could barely hear him, I would look for another guide next time
