Requirements: Excellent for adventurous individuals, families or groups of any age who want to learn and experience nature first hand – available for children over 7 years old, have to paddle in a double kayak with an adult. We recommend that you are relatively physically fit for paddling in an open-seat kayak for a few hours, and please wear comfortable clothing and water shoes that might get wet, sun block lotion, towel, camera, and a hat.

This was a wonderful and different e - This was a wonderful and different kayak experience. Our guide ,Mega, was knowledgeable and amiable and very helpful. Nicely organised and extremely enjoyable, particularly when we had to negotiate the mangroves. Before trip you get a fruit snack after a genuine Costa Rican early dinner. Thanks to Iguana and a particularly a muchas gracias to Mega

Super fun tour! - Our tour guide was named Mega and he was fantastic! He knew so much about the mangroves and wild life there. He speaks perfect English too. We got to see monkeys, crabs, and birds. Super easy kayaking on a nice quiet morning. They served us a locals breakfast afterwards that was delicious. Highly recommend!

- We did a night kayaking tour through the mangroves and we had an incredible time! We saw lots of animals and learned a lot about the mangoes. Our guide Mega was so knowledgeable and fun and helpful. Highly recommend.

Amazing and memorable! - Lots of fun! Very informative. Freddy-Ready the boat captain had a keen eye for spotting wildlife. Juan Castro, the tour guide, was funny and knowledgeable about the history, culture , wild life of Quepis. It was excellent!

Do this mangrove kayaking tour! - The tour was great! Mega and Alex were the best. They took time to inform us of the flora and fauna as we came across it. They clearly care about the environment and protecting it. We saw an anteater (Alex got out of his kayak to take a closer photo without disturbing it), a boa, monkeys, raccoon, some birds, iguanas, JC lizards and various species of the mangroves. It was a beautiful day. Then they provided a delicious breakfast! Couldn’t be happier. Thank you!

Great Adventure!!! - The kayak tour was outstanding! Our guide ‘Mega’ was knowledgeable and entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed this adventure. Saw lots of natural creatures!

Mangrove kayaking is peaceful - Kayaking in the mangroves is a peaceful experience to learn about the wildlife from our guide Mega. I was hoping for an early morning paddle but it is dependent upon the tides. Our tour began midday just before the afternoon rains. Mega is some history of the mangroves. We were able to see a family of Capuchin monkeys and a curled up anteater in the distant trees. The meal provided after the tour was satisfying and delicious.

Great Experience - I took the kayak Tour with Iguana Tours during my visit to Costa Rica in March 2025. It was my first tour with this company and one of the best of all of the companies I toured with throughout my stay. The guides were very informative about the environment prior to even arriving at the site of the tour. It was a total experience. The Guides were also personable and friendly leading to open dialogue. I have never kayaked before so the guide offered to share a kayak with me, as he did all of the rowing. I was happy to take this offer as it freed my hands to take pics of all of the beautiful wildlife along the way. I never knew how much I was into birds until taking this trip. We saw many exotic birds and listened to the nature calls between. It was quite fascinating. The tour guide was knowledgeable about everything we saw and experienced. Afterwards, we had an amazing lunch! This was an overall great experience from start to end! I would definitely recommend!!

Amazing Tour! Definitely recommend! - This tour was amazing! Our tour guide, Marlon was so very friendly and informative. On the ride getting to our kayakers he shared some history about the area and Costa Rica. He also shared his wealth of knowledge of the mangrove, different animals and again the history. We had an amazing traditional Costa Rican lunch and they accommodate my dietary preferencel (I am vegan) which I appreciate so much. I would definitely recommend this company and Marlon. Best tour guide! Mucho gracias! Pura Vido!

Beautiful kayaking experience - Such a wonderful experience! Kayaking in the mangroves was serene and beautiful. Our guide, Mega, was funny and very knowledgeable. We absolutely loved this activity that was equally beautiful in the sun and in the rain. We also saw so many monkeys!! Highly recommend!
