Selvatura Adventure Park

From downtown Santa Elena, follow the road toward the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve and continue to Selvatura Park, located beside the reserve entrance. The drive takes about 15–20 minutes. Please arrive 15–20 minutes before the tour for parking and check-in. Contact your guide if needed.

An incredible tour, really! - As our outstanding guide David explained, this is not the place to see monkeys or sloths, rather the incredible and unique forest and its treasures. Extremely knowledgeable, passionate and friendly, our guide shared some fascinating facts about the environment, as well as historic context and we were lucky enough to spot a spectacular quetzal! We all had a fantastic experience, and warmly recommend this tour!

Authentic & wonderful! Run with love! - Authentic, incredibly knowledgeable and easy with your heart! That was and is Johnny (Johnny loves nature), our guide over the suspension bridges in the cloud forest. We booked a tour that was advertised with max 15 participants. As luck would have it, none of the other participants came and we started into the jungle alone with Johnny. Already on the first bridge you could experience how much he loves and lives his job. The pronounced expertise on flora and fauna actually brought the quetzal (national bird) so rarely seen before our eyes. To really give us the opportunity to catch a glimpse of all the different bird species and other inhabitants of the cloud forest, Johnny even had two binoculars and one-lens tripod binoculars with him. We continued with a good dose of enthusiasm and commitment. Two hours were filled with wonderful conversations, a lot of humor and very interesting information that they just passed by way too fast! Absolutely sincere and without exaggeration: We would always join this tour because Johnny loves nature!!! Muchos gracias

Guided canopy walk in tropical cloud forest - Booked Johnny in UK. Transport to and from park was provided, on time and efficient. Johnny took us on a 9 cloud bridge leisurely circuit. He was considerate about our needs and those of the family which was also on the tour. He has great English and very good fauna and flora knowledge. He is a great person and told us lots of things we did not know. All in all this was an excellent experience.

Great Time! - This was an amazing and unique experience! The hanging bridges are long and high, but stable and wide enough to walk abreast. Being on the bridges offers a spectacular view of the cloud forest and a chance to see wildlife from above. Johnny Loves Nature truly enjoys sharing his love for nature with you. He is very accommodating to each participant, and ensures that you get the experience you want. He is very knowledgeable about plants and his love for conservation is inspiring. Bring binoculars and an umbrella. Thanks, Johnny!

Thank you very much Johnny! - Highly recommended hike along the green mountain suspension bridges. If you go alone you miss 90% of the experience. Johnny has a great view and ear for animals so you will have the opportunity to spot birds, insects and other wildlife. In addition you will also learn about that particular flora of the rich coast and the green bush in particular. We also liked it so much that we also did the other night walk it offers.

Monteverde hanging bridges - Johnny is excellent!! He’s so knowledgeable, funny, and has great energy! He sees wildlife you’d never notice and he’s a great photographer! You will have a great day with Johnny guiding you!

Great guide, moderate park - We did the hanging bridges, with Johnny as a guide. Johnny is a very nice guide with a lot of humor who can tell you a lot about the flora in the park. So it won't be Johnny! If this is your first time going into the jungle of Costa Rica, then it is beautiful. But we had already done Tortuguero and La Fortuna, both during the day and in the evening. And then it's very pricey: $56 pp for entrance park + $30 pp for the guide, while you only see plants. We could have skipped this one...

Disappointed - The park is stunning as are the hanging bridges. Unfortunately our tour was not worth the money. We were a group of 16 and one of the two guides didn’t show. The single guides didn’t have time to stop and show us much and made little effort to talk to those not right beside him (in Spanish) when was supposed to be an English tour. Genuinely loved the park but the extra $60 a head for the guide was a total waste of money.
