Highlights
  • J8Q4+8Q4 - You will be kayaking and walking the jungle trails and beaches with a professional guide visiting a amazing viewpoint and a cave. You’ll learn about history, culture, plants and wildlife while searching for a sloth out in the wild. The Caribbean Jungle is home to more than 300 bird species, big blue butterflies, interesting insects and other animals like poison dart frogs, iguanas, snakes, sloths, armadillos, several species of monkeys among others.

We believe every animal is a important part of an ecosystem and that they don’t belong behind a fence for human show. So the best way to support the sustainability is by ecotourism activities like this one.

This tour is in search of wildlife so there’s a possibility that we might not see what we are out to find. The sloths are not in cages and move around freely on this beach and sometimes but hardly ever just don’t want to be seen. But 99% of the time we do find them and see up to 10 or more on good days.

A great afternoon outing - Stephen was great! He helped us identify sloths, spiders, and plants. An easy walk to the vista and a unique paddle up a river, were we saw birds, turtles, and more plants. A lovely way to send an afternoon.

Excellent hike & kayak tour with Rob - Our group of four had a wonderful tour with Rob. He led us up the mountain side in Punta Uva and told us many interesting facts about the area, history and wildlife. He pointed out lots of things we would have otherwise missed. The kayaking part was very fun and we saw monkeys, slots and turtles. I recommend Rob to anyone. Such a fun experience!

Punta Uva - Rob was great. We learned a lot about the wildlife and vegetation throughout the hike and kayaking through the river and we saw so many creatures! Sloths, howler and spider monkeys, lots of birds, turtles, crabs, turtles and so much more. It was incredibly grounding kayaking peacefully through the river.

Amazing tour with nature! A must do. - Great tour, from fun in a kayak to an educational hike along the coast. We saw multiple Sloths, baby Sloths, monkeys, turtles, leaf cutter ants, iguanas and more. Well worth it. Our tour guide was amazing, he’s in the photo with a turtle. Recommend.

Amazing experience, highly recommend! - Estevan was an excellent guide—very informative and engaging! We saw howler monkeys, sloths, elusive toucans, other birds, an iguana, bugs, a Jesus Christ lizard, turtles, and lots of interesting plants! The jungle walk was very scenic and educational, the kayak trip was relaxing and peaceful (except for when the howler monkeys started howling!).

INCREDIBLE! - We had the best time! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, and without going, we wouldn't have found an amazing snorkeling spot! We saw multiple sloths, monkeys, iguanas, turtles and even some bats; not to mention some of the most breathtaking views I've ever seen! 1000% would recommend!!

We were robbed! Both literally and in terms of the tour quality! - This tour was by far the worst tour we have been on. Not only in Costa Rica, but compared to every tour we have been on in Latin America and Europe. The tour was uncoordinated, led to nowhere, and the guide was not very knowledgeable. To make matters worst, we left our car keys with friends of the tour guide and upon our return two wallets and and an iPhone were missing from the car. Luckily, we noticed this relatively quickly and we were able to prevent transactions from going through on all cards, except 1. All in all, we lost about USD 400 and the phone. Please do not book this tour, and if you decide to rent a kayak on your own, do not rent at Pacho’s.
