Punta Rucia is the main starting point to go to Cayo Arena, thousands of visitors go daily to reach the key and snorkel in the great coral reef near the coast. Punta Rucia itself is a delightfully quiet beach to enjoy, lined with a small selection of restaurants and bars. Nearby you will find a calm and protected lagoon lined with mangroves, ideal for bird watching.

  Snorkel. Sheltered by a coral reef, these waters are home to a wide variety of marine life, which your snorkel guide can help you point out.

Embark on a content day journey from Puerto Plata to Punta Rusia by boarding a cozy bus. It’s a scenic fishing community situated on the northern shoreline. Transition from that to a swift boat ride through the lush mangrove jungle, leading you to the Paradise Island (also referred to as Cayo Arena). Step on the beach for a bit of a sunbathing and wandering. You also have the option to put on a snorkel and get up close with the vibrant marine fauna and hidden corals. Upon feel of hunger, we have arranged a lunch buffet and an open bar for you, before you return to your dwellings.

The final two hours of the schedule are set aside for to-and-fro transportation.
