Highlights
  • Lake Titicaca - Lake Titicaca, located between Peru and Bolivia, is the highest navigable lake in the world. You’ll navigate around its waters in a speedboat equipped with bus-style seats, a toilet, and an upper floor perfect for taking pictures.
  • Uros Floating Islands - Embark on an unforgettable journey to the Floating Islands of Lake Titicaca, where you will be captivated by the unique experience that awaits you. As you wander through the intricate network of these remarkable islands, you’ll feel the distinctive sensation of walking on densely woven totora reeds beneath your feet.

Discover the fascinating construction methods as local Uros people explain the traditional techniques used to build and maintain these floating marvels. Engage with the warm and welcoming Uros community, learning about their daily lives, customs, and the challenges they face living on the lake.

For an added adventure, take a ride on a traditional totora reed boat, known as “Reed Boats.” These boats, crafted entirely from the same reeds that form the islands, offer a serene journey across the shimmering waters of Lake Titicaca (optional ride costs 20 soles per person and can be arranged on the same spot)

  • Taquile Island - Taquile’s textile art, recognized by UNESCO, is one of Peru’s oldest and most cherished craft traditions. Here, men, women, and children work together to create intricate textiles, each piece a testament to their rich cultural heritage.

During your visit, enjoy a leisurely stroll around the island, soaking in its natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. Embark on a brief trek from Taquile Port to the main square, a scenic uphill journey that takes approximately 30-40 minutes. As you make your way to the Plaza, you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the entire island and the captivating expanse of Lake Titicaca.

After exploring, indulge in a delicious local lunch. You will have the choice of fresh trout or a savory omelet, both accompanied by a hearty quinoa soup. To complete your meal, savor a cup of traditional Coca or Muña tea, known for its refreshing and invigorating properties.

An amazing experience - After the long train ride from Cusco to Puno the day before, we were dragging and questioning whether another early wake up and tour was worth it. It really was! Lake Titicaca and the islands are unmissable. Our guide Samuel grew up on an island and personally understood the traditional Indigenous cultures and languages of the islanders we meet. We honestly could not have asked for a better experience.

Unique experience - Guide Samuel and Giovane very attentive. The tourist experience on the islands located on Lake Titicaca was wonderful. We ⁇ a bit of this rich culture in Peru, knowing its customs, how they live and, at the end of the tour, we had the honour to experience a beautiful lunch with a beautiful view of the lake.

A True Treat...Lake Titikaka - Wonderful excursion! All aspects of the tour were communicated well and timely. The guides were friendly, professional and very informative/knowledgable of the history and facts of the area and its people. The floating islands of Uros were like nothing I have ever seen and the people/families of the islands are so warm and inviting of the opportunity to share their amazing culture and lifestyle. Taquile Island was also a wonderful and unique experience with incredible views of Lake Titikaka, cultural sharing with customary dress and dancing as well as a delightful traditional lunch on the island. Highly recommend this excursion. It was such a pleasurable experience.

Great experience! But boat is not new - Tour was a great experience! Our tour guide Samuel was amazing and answered all of our questions. Yhe lunch included was also great. The only complaint I have is that it was not a new boat. It was the same boat as all the others.

A great experience overall, but could be improved in some ways - This was overall a great experience, and I would recommend anyone to do it as well, although I did think there were some areas that could be improved. The pickup from the hotel was easy and timely. They took us to board the boats, also a seamless experience. There, we met our guide Samuel who was lovely, and our exclusive English guide for the day. The first stop is the Uros Islands. It was a beautiful and unique experience, but we spent at least 20-30 minutes of dead-time there where we were kinda sitting around waiting to move on. I would’ve liked for us to move along a little quicker as they were really trying to sell us on riding the traditional reed boat to the next island. We eventually made it to the Taquile Island which was incredible. However, I was disappointed to know that we weren’t going to be able to climb all the way to the very top point (something I had read about) because we wouldn’t have enough time. I think this could’ve been more clearly communicated ahead of time or planned out better so that we did have time. The experience on Taquile was lovely. It did involve a bit of a hike which would be tough for anyone not in shape, but once you reach the top, you have the opportunity to learn about the culture of the people there and enjoy a delicious meal. The return boat trip was rough; very choppy experience and the boat was rocking back and forth a ton. There was also some water coming in through the cracks in the windows as a result of this. It wasn’t unbearable but if you get motion sickness or seasickness, it would be rough. In total, great experience but could be improved with a little less dead-time on Uros and creating enough time for that full Taquile hike to the peak. And a smoother boat ride experience. If you have a tough time with high altitude, this one isn’t good for you. It’s very very high. Also if you get seasick, don’t do this. Otherwise, you’ll be satisfied overall with this experience!
