Very good food and it certainly was a tour I will not forget! - Our Pula Food Tour had just 6 of us. We began by walking around the Amphitheatre de Pula while our guide gave us a bit of history. We then stopped to try a good light wine drink made with the local white wine, Malvazia, mixed with sparkling water and two really good bruschetta. We continued walking to the Twin Gates of Pula. then had a second stop for bruschetta, one with meat and one with fish. The weather looked threatening as we passed by Titov Park. We continued to the ancient Forum, now a central square that still serves as the main square in the city. Our guide described the Temple of Augustus that was beautiful at night and also about the municipality of Pula that has its headquarters here. We stopped for an olive oil tasting nearby. This was top rated, award winning olive oils from a small producer. We stopped on the main square at Mediterraneo Restaurant and were served the local red wine and the local pasta with a truffle sauce with truffles. It started to rain so quickly arrived at the next stop for sauerkraut and sausage served with another white wine. It began pouring buckets and our group decided to skip the next 3 stops and just go to the gelato stop close to where the tour began. All of us were absolutely soaked – we looked we just stepped out of the shower. Our shoes were totally wet as some of streets we crossed had 2-4 inches of water flowing swiftly down them. The food itself was overall very good and it certainly was a tour I will not forget!!

Great tour - A great and individual tour of Pula. Our guide was extremely dedicated and put a lot of effort into it. The included food and drinks were excellently selected.

This is a great tour,... - This is a great tour, Denis was a lovely host who had tons of knowledge and facts to share about the food history of the region. I do think this tour could have been maybe 30 minutes shorter, but other than that, a really enjoyable experience!

Do not miss this!!!! - The octopus dish was incredible even all the people who were a little afraid of trying it ate every last bit. It was fabulous. Denis our guide was so lovely. He took us to lots of really nice restaurants and the tour was very interesting. This was one of the best food walking tours I have been on, both from the guide and the quality and quantity of food we had. We had a lovely group of people on the tour.

Yummy Pula! - We had a lovely night exploring Pula sights, and tastes. We started with an all day wine spritzer and Bruschetta, then moved to an amazing octopus dish. The night was truly an adventure for the taste 👅 buds! We enjoyed our time in Pula!

Great experience! - The Food Tour was a lot of fun. Although we were only two people (me and my friend), the 3 hours of the tour felt interesting and familiar. The english skills of our guide were better than ours combined, but everything was understandable and well explained. The food was delicious, so was the wine and everything else. Thanks for the good time :)

Enjoyable - It was basically just as advertised. It did start a bit slow as the initial portions were tiny and it turned out you had to buy your own drink in one place - as well we dropped by one place that had free tastings for everyone (including the public - we had already been there earlier in the day). So we were thinking, what have we paid for? But it picked up after that towards the end. Maybe the expectations could have been set out just a bit more at the start.
Big credit to Miroslava who was a lovely and friendly guide. That made the tour for us as we enjoyed having the chance to ask her about Istria, Croatia and the local customs. The group size was also ideal as you got to chat with others.
Overall, I thought it was a bit pricy for what it is. The food is good enough and you get a good variety, but Croatian cuisine is fairly basic - don’t expect some bougie gourmet foodie experience. Similarly we found it comfortably filling but don’t expect a huge feast. Overall, we liked the concept of trying out a few places and moving about on our feet, and we had a pleasant night out in Pula.

Rich tour of Croatian food and Pula's historical sites - My tour was essentially a private one and good value for money - a nice way to spend an evening. Miroslava was very knowledgeable about local food and customs, and showed interesting (and surprisinly abundant) historical sites.

Great intro to the city for history lovers - Our guide was very knowledgeable and we had a great time! The food was delicious, though I wish we had been told what we would be eating ahead of time; we had a couple dishes that not everyone in our party liked such as octopus and cabbage. The tour is really great as a first thing to do in Pula, especially if you really like history.

Just ok w/ some impressive monuments - I'd give this tour about 3 1/2 stars. Our guide, Dolibar (sp?), was clearly quite knowledgeable, but I fear the tour was a bit doomed from the start. It was, at first, cancelled due to a lack of participation, but then they revived it -- pulling in a guide who had not done this tour in some time - and who had already been on an all-day tour around Istria that day. He was noticeably exhausted - poor guy - and 15 minutes late because he said he had to drop one previous guest off at a separate location from the others who had been on the tour. We had, as a consequence, very little time outside the amphitheater and didn't go inside (the itinerary says 20mins at the amphitheater, but we were only there about 5). We hoofed it to a restaurant w/ a nice starter course for us - 2 slices of bread, one w/ prosciutto/cheese on top, the other w/ anchovies on tomato. We had a white wine spritzer. There wasn't really any discussion as to how the food related to the area, as we expected (maybe that wasn't the plan?). We then hit various sites, the twin gates, Temple of Augustus (again - not going inside), etc, alternating brief dining experiences in between --- but our guide was really scattered in his explanations. He just seemed fairly unprepared for us, though he had the bank of knowledge, again. The beef pieces at one restaurant were unusual - marinated in teriyaki (?) - and the pork sausage on sauerkraut was ok. The truffle w/ an Istrian pasta was good. Gelato was the end course -- and it was clear the folks at the shop wanted us to take their least-used option (our guide just said, "That's the way it goes." ??). The 2 other couples on the tour (one couple, one friend duo) -- we all agreed the tour was ok on its face but very disorganized. I felt bad for the guide who just seemed so spent -- he kept talking about how he had to drive all the way back toward Motovun, a near one hour trek, but he didn't cut our time w/ him short, to his credit. My friend and I didn't really care that much for Pula (it seemed pretty touristy & not very pretty, though the Roman monuments are impressive) -- so perhaps that informed on our experience?
