A BriBri Cultural Experience is a must in Costa Rica! - To visit a BriBri Indigenous family is an absolute must when in Costa Rica! It was humbling to see their love and deep connection to the land and what their god, Sibo, provides. We got to participate in the four-step process of making cocoa paste, drank coco, and ate banana loaf with a beautiful ethnic family. It was very interesting learning about every plant and its medicinal purpose as well as boiling indigo leaves for dying wood carvings and fibers. To witness the Bribris matriarchal customs and heritage was an authentic experience. And the spiritual day ended with a cool dip in the local waterfalls.

This was a fantastic day! - This was a fun day. A few minutes from Puerto Viejo. Some hiking, some swimming, and a ritual spiritual cleansing from a shaman.

Beautiful moment in the Bribri community - We had an incredible experience with the Bribri community. The shaman had such a beautiful energy, and we felt truly honored to learn from him. Our guide was absolutely perfect—she transported us into this rich and fascinating culture with so much passion and knowledge.
We also felt very welcomed by the family in the community, sharing delicious, locally made food and meaningful moments together. It was an unforgettable experience, filled with warmth, authenticity, and deep connections. Highly recommended!

Amazing walk! - I was very eager to take a tour to get to know more about the Bribri community and was afraid to buy a package for the tourists. I discovered the agency founded by Tirza, a Bribri woman, who seeks to strengthen, strengthen and help her community. The walk is wonderful! There are a maximum of 6 people per group and I was lucky that my guide was Tirza herself, which is a love! It is an extremely attentive group guide, friendly and with an incredible energy. I asked many questions about how the tour worked, about how she chose the Shamans and the Bribris families that welcome the tourists and she was very loving in answering me things that might be more technical. We realize that it is not a tourist scene because Tirza takes us to the Bribri community and the life around continues to happen normally. It is very worth taking this tour if you want to know more about the Bribris and if you are willing to come with respect to know the traditions lived by them. Another point: at some point, we go through a family that sells crafts and, of course, only accept money in kind. In addition, I highly recommend the tour if you want to get out of the most obvious things and want to help value the indigenous peoples.

Fantastic day - Fantastic experience with an indigenous led tour and women owned business. Our guide was fabulous, and walked us through understanding our visit to the local shaman. The visit was a really special experience and we felt so peaceful after our cleansing ritual. Next we visited a lovely welcoming local family for an educational tour of their home plantation/gardens, made chocolate from cacao, shared a meal together and tried to shoot a bow and arrow (poorly!). We ended up the day with the locals at a refreshing waterfall. We learnt a lot about the BriBri people and culture on a really fun day out. Highly recommend this tour.
