Immersive cultural tour - I had a wonderful, informative and engaging experience learning about the Bri Bri culture, medicinal plants, and chocolate-making process led by our guide Ricky. He made sure our experience was both a comfortable and memorable one, and took pains to help with translations throughout. I highly recommend!

Very personal and courteous. - Very personal tour to a BriBri shaman and then a tour of the family garden. We were allowed to make chocolate ourselves and eat it.

Best chocolate tour in Puerto Viejo! - Tirza's chocolate & medicinal plants tour is the best! We learned so much (plants for headache! menstrual cramps! fibers for hammock construction!) and had lots of hands-on experiences: making a thatched roof, roasting & grinding chocolate, eating chocolate with roast bananas, and of course drinking the chocolate drink. Tirza is a knowledgeable and friendly companion and introduced us to many wonderful people at this cultural center, especially Yannette. We could not pass up getting a few souvenirs from the Bribri crafts shop which ended up being our favorites from the trip. The waterfall was a refreshing end to a great day and we got to see lots of wildlife even just on the short path to the pool.
Highly recommended! It was an honor to spend time with people who have stewarded the land with such expertise and intention.

An experience I won’t forget - It was such an informative and fun experience! Our tour guide Enrique was knowledgeable and friendly. Kept the experience engaging at all times. Learned a lot and gained a new appreciation for the culture we experience! The only thing, the walk returning from the waterfall can be challenging for those with limited mobility.

An authentic and inspiring experience - We had a wonderful time with the Bribri community, discovering their culture and cocoa production. The women who welcomed us impressed us with their kindness and their desire to share their knowledge. They made sure to include children in their explanations and demonstrations.
This is the most authentic and inspiring experience of our stay in Costa Rica.
Thank you very much to Tirza, Enrique and the Bribris women who welcomed us 🙏🏻 Mia Mia

Incredible cultural experience - We had the most amazing experience visiting a Bribri family home and learning how cacao and chocolate are traditionally made. We went as a large group of yoga students in a retreat and everyone was extremely accommodating to our group. Tirza was our guide and we were so lucky to have her show us the importance of keeping the Bribri traditions alive. Hearing her talk of how they value everything in nature and live in harmony with the natural world with love and gratitude was by far our favorite part.
We are planning to return for another yoga retreat next year and hope to join Tiza on more cultural experiences.

Interesting visit to the Bribri indigenous culture - Mishka from the Bribri indigenous culture came to us. He is an empathetic person and very nice and with a great knowledge of his own culture.
The talk with el.shamán was very interesting and the visit to an indigenous family taught us much about how they live and the uses they give home plant. It was amazing. The truth is that we came expressly to Pueblo Viejo.a make this visit and did not disappoint us
