On our Puerto Viejo Food Tour, let our guides show you some of the best food and most scenic locations the Southern Caribbean offers. We have really great food here. The beauty of our evening is the collective experience as we wine and dine our way down the coast
Indulge in tastings of authentic local cuisine as we work our way down to Manzanillo and back to Puerto Viejo. You will sample Argentinian steak chimichurri, Peruvian ceviche, and curried hummus to name a few. We will enjoy Caribbean classics like jerk chicken and gallo pinto as you dip your toes in the sand.
On this tour, you can expect a engaging host, clean and comfortable transportation, a full meals worth of food across several locations, and a guide that is knowledgeable about the area, its history and legends, and can make recommendations. A bottle of water is provided at the beginning of the tour for each guest. We have small groups of no more than 6 guests that provide an individualized and personal experience.

A locals view of great food and fun - If you’re looking for a fun evening and a foodie experience of this wonderful part of the world, you must take this tour. Annie was so very personable and shared with us her many years of knowledge about Puerto Viejo, and the surrounding area. She showed us local foods to eat from roadside stands to gourmet restaurants, And some wonderful stops at local Beachside restaurants/bars where we enjoyed a drink and the sunset. I started out the tour feeling like a tourist and a completion of our evening. I felt like a local Tico. If you love food, and also want to know more about the local culture, this is a must event that you should not miss.

Great food and great guide - Lora (our tour guide) was amazing! Not only did she know the best spots to take us to, but she was a wealth of knowledge and information. She made us feel super comfortable from the beginning, explaining how the tour would go. We sampled some traditional Caribbean food, fushion fare, fresh ceviche, local fruits, and some Argentinian favorites. Everything was absolutely fantastic.
She gave us some history of Puerto Viejo, and some of her own personal stories and experiences too. It was so cool to see the town, through the eyes of someone who lives here. In addition to being an expert on the local food scene, she gave recommendations on beaches, activities and more.
This is a must do, especially if it's your first time in Puerto Viejo. And I definitely recommend doing so at the beginning of your trip. It will give you an insider look at some of the best things the town has to offer (food and otherwise).

Awesome Experience. - Tour and our guide, Lora was EXCEPTIONAL!!!
We completely enjoyed the experience and to have an authentic taste of Puerto Viejo, Limon. Would highly recommend. AMAZING. Loved it.

Great way to learn about the unique area! - We got a personalized experience with lots of great food samplings that were representative of the area and supported local vendors. The guide was very personable and gave lots of stories and history as well as recommendations for food and activities in the area. Well worth the experience!

Beautiful local Gems - Laura was excellent. Not only did she pick awesome gem spots to eat at, she also provided a brief history of the area. She’s very knowledgeable and embedded in the local culture. Can’t wait to visit again. Thank you Laura for a wonderful visit experience.

Discover Puerto Viejo Food and Drink Gems!!! - Puerto Viejo Food Tours was just awsome, for a small town the food scene in Puerto Viejo is vast, and Laura really helped us navigate this from beginning to end, taking us to local gems that you wouldn’t do on your own…..
highlights were the Tiki bar for Mai Tai’s and the view, Jason’s Jerk Chicken was delicious - the real deal, and the ceviche exceptional.
If your looking to find your food & drink groove in Puerto Viejo don’t look any further than Laura!!!

So Fun and So Filling - We like to do a food tour when we arrive in a new place to give us an idea of the local cuisine and good places to visit during our stay. Lora was an amazing guide and we feel like we were able to sample a large variety of food - you will NOT leave hungry so come with an empty stomach. Not only did Lora provide us with a lot of tasty food samples - she also gave us so many local attractions to visit as well as recommendations on transport companies and must do activities and recommended guides. Lora is a very welcoming guide and you will feel comfortable with her the moment you meet here. We even happened across one of the marching bands in Vieja and she stopped and parked so we could watch them perform even though that was not even remotely part of the tour description. Overall this was a great way to spend a beautiful evening.

An Experience! - Had a wonderful time on this tour our first day in Puerto Viejo. We got to know the area and eat some tasty bites. Lara our guide and was very knowledgeable and set a good pace. We went to a lot of places we wouldn't have had the chance to explore otherwise!

Amazing experience - My family and I came to Costa Rica for a 3 week holiday and I booked this food tour for something special to do. Lora was SO lovely and warm and we felt very looked after right from the start! Loras been in the food industry for years as her husband used to own 2 successful restaurants back in the USA - so she knows how to choose good places to eat. First of all driving around Puerto Viejo was so beautiful and we loved each food stops! Everything was delicious and we especially loved the chimchurri at El Refuggio restaurant. My kids loved the tour also and yes we were so full after it ended! Great memories ❤️
