Great excursion all around. - This was a wonderful experience. Hector, the owner was great in communicating with us. Our guide Adira was a delight, knowledgeable, interesting and accommodated ours wishes. She showed us many interesting sites and took us to some great stores for some shopping we would not have found on our own. We were on a cruise and the pickup was easy and so was the drop off. I would not hesitate to use this company again.

Spectacular! Not to be missed! - Unforgettable experience. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and patient with those who could not climb as fast (aka me) . Always concerned with safety. The driver was professional. And the view’s spectacular. Highly recommend.

Fun in Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala - Lots to see, and Lots of walking on old cobblestone streets - but at your own leisurely pace. Very special having a private tour for your party only.

Exactly what we wanted! - Our cruise ship stopped in Puerto Quetzal, so we booked a van for 7 to Antigua with GTM Tours. Our desire was to get to see the sights — but, at our own pace. The tour was exactly what we needed for three generations and our interest in local culture. Our guide Anibal was a local and gave us a great historical background during the ~90 minute drive there. The road was rough but our driver did a great job navigating the bumps. The van was extremely clean and great a/c, and a great respite for some of our family while others ventured on with Anibal. We got exactly what we wanted, and sounds like even more than the tour the cruise ship offered! We started the day with a local coffee shop — a quick city walk tour to churches, jade museum (seems mandatory), a delicious and amazing local lunch of tortillas with guacamole, and ended the day with the city view (a bit smoggy) plus a self guided walk around a monastery. Our guide gave context to what we saw and allowed our entire group to relax without worrying about maps, translating, or doing the research. Exactly what our family wanted, and chef’s kiss with a local guide! We all decided we will be back to Antigua one day!

A Visit to Old World Guatamala With A Twist - Wow what a great experience! We undertook this journey upon arriving in Puerto Quetzal on a cruise through the Panama Canal. We were met at the ship by Moises promptly when we got off the ship at 7:00 am. He is a wonderful person who willingly shared his views on the Mayan culture and it’s relationship to Guatamala , Spanish, the land and Catholic cultures. Driving to Antigua which is a 90 minute experience we learned a lot of geographic and geologic information on the Guatemalan plains, Guatemalan volcanoes and the highlands where the old colonial capital, Antiqua was built before it’s destruction in 1773 by a massive earthquake. Upon arriving in Antigua, we began a walk exploring this old and magnificent city. We explored ruins, restored buildings, the Mayan market, the city hall and the main square. We became highly informed about the life of Guatamala’s own San Pedro. We concluded our visit with a delicious meal at a small wonderful typical restaurant recommended by Moises. We completed our tour a little early and Moises took us on a tour of the “real Guatamala” in cities like San Pedro, San Miguel, and the Old City on the way back to the port. We have done a number of these private tours in many cities and countries throughout the world but this was one of the most informative and fun days we had spent. Moises made this all happen with his skills, knowledge, and tube worldview he shared with us. You cannot go wrong in booking this tour with Moises. You will come away enlightened about a region of a country you might overlook in planning your travels. Don’t miss this when visiting the beautiful country in Central America.

Beautiful Antigua - We loved the tour of city of Antigua, but the description of tour stated we would visit a coffee plantation which we did not see. Supposedly we ran out of time but we were back an hour early. On the way to Antigua our guide was very informative but on the way back he didn’t communicate with us at all.

Do your homework on this destination. - The beautiful city of Antigua is over 100 kms from the port. The traffic was horrendous. It took us 3 hours to get back to the ship and we were late. Luckily the ship excursions were also late or we could have been left behind. Stressful!!!!
