Great Experience, Excellent Customer Service - Fantastic experience! We originally booked a private tour but the night before our trip I got food poisoning at our hotel. I reached out to Viator and they offered different options (when they could have canceled with no refund) and we ended up taking a private tour with Antonio. Great knowledge, service and conversation throughout the day which was just short of 7 hours long. While some of the Dominican souvenir salespeople can be aggressive with trying to make sales, we had noticeably less people stopping us than other groups. Lunch was delicious and included, as well as coffee on Mount Isabel. If you want to make the most of a day trip into Puerto Plata I would highly recommend this tour as you don't have to buy your own tickets, wait in lines, etc. Expect that you will be walking through a number of shops for rum, chocolate, and other souvenirs. Del Oro Chocolate had much better prices than Choco Lovers for those looking to buy lots!

Puerto Plata City Tour - We really enjoyed the tour of Puerto Plata. The tour covered many of the tourist attractions in the city. Antonio was a great host and very knowledgeable about Puerto Plata's history.

Raul was the best! This Tour Was a a Trip Highlight - We got so much out of this private tour on our cruise port stop at Amber Cove. Raúl was an amazing tour guide that made us feel safe and provided us with invaluable history on the region. This was a highlight of our trip. We started off with a tour of the downtown area which included Umbrella Street, the pink street of Dona Blanca, tour of the cathedral and the central park, Choco Lovers in DR for hot chocolate and wine tasting as well as a Cigar making demonstration where you can roll your own and lastly a visit to the Ámbar museum. Raul gave us options and customized our tour as we saw fit. We went to Mount Isabel observing the daily village life of the Dominicans on the way up to enjoy its beautiful panoramic views. We had a delicious lunch of chicken/fish with rice and beans and salad in the Malecón of Puerto Plata then to a tour of the Macorix House of Rum and quick stop at the Felipe Fortaleza. Tip for cruisers, allow 20 min to get from ship to the last gate where other tour services are allowed. We passed up quite a few on our way out of the Amber cove welcome center/ terminal. Be ready for tipping for good service for your guide and others on the many stops you’ll encounter. They are very organized which makes for an excellent and efficient tour for those on time constraints. Highly recommend this private tour!

Excellent excursion. Highly recommend - We really liked our excursion. Our tour guide was very informative, attentive and gentle. He offered to choice locations which we can visit. We had several stops, made a lot of photos, had delicious lunch, tried coffee, chocolate, hot cocoa, brownie, different types of wine. No rush, he always gave as time. Driver also was very gentle, attentive. Both guys always were ready to help as with everything. We had amazing time and I highly recommend this excursion.

Great Trip - Really nice and informative trip. Our family of 10 took this trip together. Antonio and Daniel took great care to ensure we experienced as much as possible on a shortened day due to leaving port early. We learned a lot, saw a lot, and were very grateful for the chance to spend the day in DR.

Puerto Plata tour - It was great! Took a private tour of Puerto Plata, which included the cable car that was not operating. Enjoyed the hillside view and the lovely gardens. Made stops at an amber mine, a rum distillery, a chocolate factory, a church, and a square. Best part was our guide and lunch!

Not satisfied - First off, I would like to say my reading has nothing to do with Raul, he was great and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. The cable car that you mentioned in your ad was not available, and looks like it’s been unavailable for quite some time. The chocolate factory tour was really no factory tour at all just a method to try to sell some of their goods. The rum factory was pretty much the same way; really nice rum tasting, but no tour of any factory. All I’m saying is if you advertise it that sets an expectation in our expectations were not met.
