Puerto plata day - We had a wonderful time. Our tour guide Jesus Castro was excellent, he was accommodating to our needs and had vast knowledge of the area. A great day in puerto plata.

Kelvin made our tour fun!! - We had Kelvin as our tour guide during this experience and he tailored our tour to what we wanted to spend most our time doing. He was very personable, kind, and knowledgeable! We absolutely loved Kevin's tour! You have to request Kelvin. He will make sure you feel safe, spend extra time at the locations you like and he will also provide water or Dominican soft drinks. The van was clean and a/c worked great as well.

Jose Sosa made the trip! - Don’t miss out! Book this tour and if Jose Sosa is your guide it will be like traveling with the town Mayor! He was fun, knowledgeable, welcoming and enthusiastic about being with our group. We had a great time, the food at the beach was AH-MAZING, and we got to see how the locals got around (inside joke)…it was most certainly a memorable excursion.

Unforgettable Tour - This tour was truly one of the highlights of our trip! It offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and connection with the local community in Puerto Plata. From exploring a chocolate factory and an amber mine museum to relaxing on a stunning private beach, every stop was thoughtfully chosen and full of charm.
What made the experience exceptional, though, was our guide, Misael Ortiz. He wasn’t just knowledgeable he was passionate, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our day special. Misael brought the Dominican Republic to life for us, sharing not only its rich history but also personal insights into daily life in Puerto Plata and the beauty of its close-knit community.
We even opted out of one of the stops (the rum factory) and chose to get massages instead, and Misael was incredibly accommodating. His flexibility and attention to our interests made us feel completely taken care of he truly went above and beyond.
If you're looking for more than just sightseeing if you want to truly experience Puerto Plata I can't recommend this tour (and especially Misael) enough. I left feeling inspired, connected, and already planning my return to the Dominican Republic.

EXCELLENT private tour!!! - Jesus was a wonderful tour guide. He was very kind and knowledgeable. He also was our groups photographer at all the stops. He was very patient and didn’t rush us at any of the tour stops. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone traveling to the area.

Great Private Tour - We had a great experience with Jesus Castillo! Before we even got off the cruise ship, I had a text on What’s App making contact and sending me pictures and directions to meet. We did not have to leave the port terminal to meet him. He personalized our tour and we had a seamless transition between stops. We went to the Amber Museum, Chocolate Factory, Umbrella Steet, the Pink Alley, the fort, Central Park, and a private beach. We were able to stay at each location as long as we liked and Jesus took lots of family photos. His van was clean and air-conditioned and he provided WiFi and drinks (water/coke). The private beach we went to (Blue JackTar) was not crowded. We had a canopy bed on the beach with restrooms and a restaurant nearby. We opted to skip the rum factory to spend more time at the beach. He also pointed out the Jesus and Poseidon statues on our way to different locations. Overall, this was a great experience. I will say that at each stop the locals are trying to sell you something, but I don’t think that was specific to the tour - this would have happened no matter where we went on the island. If we ever come back to the Dominican Republic, we would book with Jesus again!

We had an incredible day... - We had an incredible day exploring Puerto Plata with Kelvin as our private driver during our cruise stop at Amber Cove. From the moment he greeted us at the port with a warm smile, Kelvin’s friendliness and accommodating nature made us feel right at home. His air-conditioned van was clean and comfortable, perfect for our group of seven. Kelvin’s knowledge of Puerto Plata was impressive—he shared fascinating stories about the city’s history and culture. Kelvin’s fun energy kept us laughing, and he went above and beyond by taking amazing photos of us at each spot, capturing memories we’ll cherish and Kelvin ensured we were back at the port with time to spare. We highly recommend Kelvin for his expertise, warmth, and knack for making every moment special—book him for an unforgettable Puerto Plata adventure!
