  • Parque Central Independencia - It is considered one of the most precious symbols of the “Silver City”. It was one of the gifts to his people from General Luperón during the government he headed in 1879. This plaza was one of the first recreational places in the country.
  • Cathedral of St. Philip the Apostle - The Cathedral of Puerto Its foundation dates back to 1502, but due to the fire caused by the restorers in 1863 it was completely destroyed. Excellent company! - Excellent service. The van provided was roomy and in excellent condition. Both Ismael and wife were very personable. They made sure that we were well informed, were satisfied and included a great lunch with the tour. I would recommend them to anyone visiting the Caribbean islands.

Excellent Tour - Elvin Arrived early, had a sign with our name, introduced himself, and Asked what we wanted to do first. Escorted us through the fort and kept checking to make sure we were happy. He had a nice car, with air conditioning, that was clearly marked with the company logo. At the rum factory, he introduced us to his boss, the owner Ismael, who made sure we were happy. At the end of the day, Ismael was also there to make sure we had a good day. Elvin accommodated us by taking us back downtown to get ice cream even though the tour was over before he returned us to the hotel. Elvin worked hard to lean more English words and to help us with our Spanish. He is very friendly and genuinely warm. We were offered water, coke, and rum at every stop. We visited the fort, rum factory, a pink alley, the umbrella district, a cigar shop, and chocolatier.

Great Experience - If you're going to do a city tour, highly recommend doing a private tour. It's about 2x more than a group tour, but you get to go at your own pace and have a personal touch. Ismael and company have a great city tour, hitting all the main tour sites and letting you get some shopping in.

The best part of our Crusie - Ismael’s tour was the true highlight of our trip. Everything was “custom” to what we wanted to do. He took us to see architecture, a lookout point, historical sites but didn’t push us to do things we didn’t want to do like cigars or rum stores. He was polite, his car was clean, and he took us to a more local place for the best meal of the trip. So good we wrote down the foods so we could try to make them at home! We traveled with older family members and he was incredible and pacing the guides for them. I could not recommend him higher!

Amazing company/A+++/Safe Experience/ On-Time: Worry & Hassle free travel to your destination. I will use every time!! - We love ITT. They are very good with safety and customer service. They have our name on paper and iPad so you can see they are there for you. The driver waits and is very comfortable to ride in the van. He actually brought back my lost wallet free of charge to the airport!

You have to Tour with Ismael and ITT! - I cannot say enough great things about Ismael's private tour company. Ismael Transfer Tours is a family owned and operated business, and you will feel like part of the family when you tour with them. Ismael communicated with us well in advance to make sure we could easily meet up with them at the cruise port in Puerto Plata, the air conditioned van was perfect for transporting our family of five around all day. This is not a run of the mill tourist experience-- this is a personalized tour that let's you see the heart of the D.R., including its amazing food, people and local features like rum, chocolate, and local amber and gemstones. We wanted to add a couple of hours of beach time at the end of our tour, and Ismael recommended the best beach, dropped us off and arranged for one of their taxis to pick us up and take us back to the cruise port. This level of service was above and beyond but is clearly the norm for ITT!
