Best tour guide ever - Santos showed my friend and I around Puerto Plata. He was extremely professional, courteous, and respectful. He provided us not only with a guided tour but also drinks. He took us to our requested destinations that were not part of the tour. I highly recommend not only this excursion company but also Santos as your guide.

Great Tour - The tour was great. Finding our driver was a little confusing as all taxi drivers are wearing the same uniform, but a quick phone call took care of that. Van was in working order and our guide was very informative and allowed us to customize the experience. The price was great for my sister and I. I would certainly book with them again.

Puerto Plata city tour - All of the locations were cool to visit. My guide, Felix Jr, was great. He was very informative about the places and culture. Also, took me to a very reasonably priced souvenir shop

Alfredo was one of the... - Alfredo was one of the best tour guides we've had in a long time! He was very knowledgeable about the history and would answer any questions we had. He was very fun to be with also! He had us laughing all day! I would truly recommend him for anyone taking a tour and want to learn a lot of history in the area. The van we rode in was very clean and comfortable.

First time in DR. Nice Overview. - This was my first visit to the Dominican Republic. Junior was my tour guide and I was the only customer. We went to the Amber Museum, the Rum distillery and the chocolate factory, among other places. His van was air-conditioned. A hint: bring lots of singles because you might want to tip various folks, in addition to Junior. Another hint: Do not, under any circumstances, think you can rent a moped and navigate the streets. It's crazy; let a local do the driving.

Not really a walking tour - Disappointing!!!! Reviews looked great. Especially the guide Alfredo!!! We booked whilst on the cruise ship. The first issue, we never knew the time the tour started. We emailed the tour operator, the response ‘what time do you want it to start’???? We said 10am. Great they said???? Ask for Alfredo at the taxi rank. Seemed a little casual but Alfredo had been mentioned in reviews so it seemed ok!!! On arrival, through port to the Taxi rank to find Alfredo, someone shouted Alfredo. Nice guy, well turned out with ‘logo’d’ shirt. Taxi great condition, but we had booked a ‘walking tour’!!! No problem, perhaps we just need to get to the centre. Trouble is the taxi driver didn’t speak English. Foolishly tried Google translate but feel it’s a set up so you can’t get answers to questions. 20 minute drive where he can point out horses and school!! We think his name is Santos and Alfredo is his son???!!! Arrive at destination, a rum museum. An older ‘English’ speaking guy Pepito, tells us he’ll be our guide!!!! Takes a photo of us and places us in rum museum queue then gone!!!! We aren't drinkers!!! Collects us at the end for chocolate factory tour. Pleasant enough. Next stop Pepito’s sisters shop!!!! Amber and gemstone necklaces/jewellry. Full on attention from the sister and no other shoppers. Really uncomfortable. We looked around and said ‘no’. There wasn’t an issue. From there we were taken into another sisters shop and then directly into 3 other shops selling usual tourist stuff but someone gives you a basket and stays by your side. Again uncomfortable. Next stop another shop, but this time a couple of people cigar rolling. My husband is taken into the back by a young fella and presented with the option to buy 5 cigars for $100. Reluctantly my husband says he’ll buy one. He’s told that’s not an option. Other tourists were appearing and leaving in fast pace, same treatment to all. Totally disappointed up to this point. We were then driven to old amber cove. The buildings, the square!!!! Lovely. First and only real walk part of the tour. Up umbrella street where someone took a lovely video of us, no charge, and pink street- again lovely. Pepito more than happy to take photos of us. Last trip in the taxi was the fort. I’d had enough by this point. Worried it would be more ‘relatives’ we were expected to buy things from, and being in a very busy area I felt safe to say ‘please take me back to the ship’!!!! He was surprised and the guide asked for a tip so he could have a good lunch. We gave $20 dollars. He didn’t seem impressed. That was the last we saw of Pepito. Santos reappeared and duly took us back to the ship. He seemed a nice guy. Showed us pictures of his family but why he wouldn’t speak English when it’s his living, cruise ship tours, I can only guess it’s a ploy, as I said before. Is it so you cant get answers to ‘where are we going, how long will it take etc……’ 20 minutes later, no issue, we are back at the ship, 4 hours after we started.
