Upscale Excursion - Upscale Excursion
Professional operation lead by Rose & Larry. Nice newer air conditioned shuttle bus driven to a Jack Tar golf resort beach...really nice! Larry stayed with us the whole time on the beach & checked on us often. A personable guy! Towels, chairs, & umbrella provided. Chair-side bar & food service. Totally clean beach with awesome waves & swimming. Beach showers to rinse off & clean bathrooms. Recommend booking the earlier Excursion as the beach started to fill up after noon. Rose & the driver picked us up & returned to the ship on time. An overall excellent experience...would highly recommend.
The pomegranate margaritas were delicious! Don't forget your flip flops...the sand is HOT!!

Highly Recommend - Very nice. We arrived from our cruise ship and followed the easy instructions to meet up with our guide. When we arrived at the meeting place the tour company guide found us. He took us to the van and introduced us to our driver and guide. After a short trip to the beach our driver introduced us to another beach assistant. The beach assistant was GREAT. He let us know about the restaurant/bar and kept us informed of everything, even gave us 20 minute warning when our bus would return for our departure. Plenty of time to shop near port before our departure. This beach retreat was much better than the normal ship excursions. We would highly recommend for anyone looking to just relax.

Rosie and team were so... - Rosie and team were so friendly and accomodating. Playa Dorado is a great beach with soft sand, big waves. There is a bar and restaurant at the location where they take you. Wifi, chair, umbrella is included. Note that the pick up point is a long walk past the pier through shops at Taino Bay to the street where taxis and bus pick up is. It was difficult for my mother. Plan on 20 minutes to walk there from the ship. Also the pick up instructions said the tour began 30 minutes after the ship's gangway is down, but the tour guide called and said we were late; that they were operating on local time which was an hour ahead. It was confusing. But they did wait on us which I appreciated.

Nice and relaxing - Straight forward tour, we got picked up at the cruise port by a van, then went straight to the beach. Our tour guide was Anthony, he’s super nice. We learned some of the DR history from Anthony on the way to the beach. We got to stay at a nice beach area with chairs and umbrellas. Unfortunately we can’t swim in the ocean this time due to big waves but the experience is still nice with warm weather, watching and listening to the waves worth the trip. On the way back we had some nice rum punch Anthony and the crew on the van. Would definitely do this again.

Playa Dorada - Wet Day - The weather was not cooperating. Nevertheless our tour guide, Jordan was professional and informative. He took us to a beachside restaurant where we sat and eventually had lunch.

Great Experience!! - Angel Luis was our tour guide and he was awesome!! Very friendly and shared lots of history and information of this beautiful island. He gave us water and a very refreshing Rum Punch. Very attentive to our needs and even gave us the Wifi password from the local resort.
We had about 2.5 hours in Playa Dorada which was just enough to soak in the sun, swim and have a delicious lunch at the Blue Jack right on the beach. You can chose from the beach lounge chairs or the beds. We got 2 beds for our family of 5 and there were plenty available. Ceviche was great and Fish and Chips is highly recommended. Price was affordable and the drinks were about $6.00 each.
We took pictures with a monkey, a parrot and had fresh coconut water from vendors walking the beach.
Great experience! Definitely recommend...

Beautiful and relaxing - This tour company was very organized and professional. The bus was clean and we had very little wait time. I felt very safe with Anthony watching our belongings. It was a short excursion but we were fine with that since we were tired. We didn't snorkel due to the waves and poor visibility. The tour guides gave us bottled water and rum punch for the way back. We even did some high pressured shopping there but they did negotiate with us. All in all it was a nice, relaxing day!

Nice beach break. - Nice beach, good service, away from the public beach. If on a cruise, hopefully a long day as the time to enjoy was less than we wanted. Still, when we go back will do it again. Guide and host were awesome and a real plus.

Great morning on Playa Dorado - Anthony was a wonderful guide who brought us to a beautiful, quiet beach club with lounges, umbrellas and a snack bar. One of our family members is elderly and everyone was super patient and accommodating with her inability to move quickly or easily. A plus all around!

Fabulous tour of Puerto Plata - We had a fabulous tour. It was very hot and the women didn’t want to spend the entire day at the beach. Since there was only the four of us we gout a tour walking around the central part of Puerto Plata. It was a fabulous tour, we saw the city hall, the cathedral, the umbrella street, a coffee/chocolate shop and ca rum tasting. They took us by van to the fort with a beautiful drive along the malacón. Tony, Anthony and the driver were great and we are looking forward to coming back. Tony took his time and described the history, the architecture, the style of living and the culture. He was a fabulous guide.
