An Amazing Time With Jesus! - An absolute wonderful day, and it could not have been better without Jesus Castro. A very friendly and knowledgeable driver. He showed us all of the real sites! Five stars for sure.

The way to go in the Dominican Republic - Elian was so hospitable and showed us a great time. We had him pick us up from the hotel and bring us back to the airport, giving a tour along the way. He took us through some local areas and explained how Dominicans live and able to answer any questions we had. He was nice enough to buy me a couple beers throughout the tour. When my wife wasn't feeling well, Elian pivoted and brought us to a great beach restaurant to relax. This is absolutely the team to go to if you want to enjoy your time in Dominican Republic

best tour of the island - Jesu’ Castro was a great tour guide. He is the total package as he takes photos, provides a great tour of the island, provides plenty of time for picking up souvenirs, and provides cold drinks. We made the best decision by hiring him to show us around. He was a real gem! Anything we asked of him he smiled and politely said, “ happy to service”.

Kelvin is an amazing guide! - Our tour guide was called Kelvin Ventura. He was AMAZING!
We had some elderly people in our group of six and he was so caring and helpful.
He customized our tour to things that interested us, showed us some great sites and views, and we could not have asked for a better guide.
He overheard that it was the birthday of one of our group members and he snuck off for a moment to hop into a bakery and surprise us with a birthday cake.
I highly recommend Kelvin!

Perfecto! - We had an amazing tour with Jose - the J of E & J Tours. Communication was great, pickup was easy and just as described at Taino Bay. Jose is full of energy and positivity. We were comfortable, offered drinks and given a wonderful tour of the area with lots of conversation and hitting the highlights just as described. The timing for each stop was excellent, the vehicle was clean and comfortable. The real highlight though is Jose himself. He is a ray of sunshine and did such an amazing job showing us Puerto Plata. We rarely do "touristy stuff" when traveling but since this was our first time here, we wanted to be tourists. It exceeded our expectations. But honestly, it is Jose who made it that good. He just really made you smile and enjoy your time. Thanks you so much for a great tour. We have already looked into finding another cruise that stops in Puerto Plata so we can tour with E & J again. Perfecto!

Fun family tour! - We really enjoyed our day, despite getting soaked by occasional torrential rain! We visited with our family group of 11, ranging in age from 11-82, and everyone had a great day! Elian was so friendly and knowledgeable, and he was easily able to accommodate our group’s size and physical limitations. We saw most of the typical tourist sites that the cruise ship excursions offered, but we also were able to visit several areas that are off the beaten path. E&J really worked with us to customize our visit to a list of places that we could all enjoy. By the end of our 3.5 hours, we really felt like we got a solid feel for the Dominican culture and the city of Puerto Plata. My only complaint is that the pickup/taxi zone is a really long walk from the pier, further than the cruise bus pickup location, but that is not E&J’s fault. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see the city, and escape the cruise masses.

Great tour! Easy and laid back - Jose was fantastic. He took us everywhere we wanted to go in a safe and timely manner. He was very friendly and personable. He even drove us past where he lives (which was on the way to stops) and we waved to his sweet wife! It’s little experiences like that I love.

Very disappointed Puerta Plata tour. - We were charged 3.5 hours, got 2, and most was riding around in circles. Our tour operator though very sweet spoke very little English, never said anything to us while we driving around, and was on the phone 80% of the time with personal business. Our Honda Odyssey broke down less than 2 hours into our tour in some residential area, he did have his friend pick us up, with 2 large jugs of gasoline in the back, made us very nervous. They brought us back to Port. Was not offered any type of refund, in fact we believe he was looking for his tip.
We have used Viator several times before with really no issues.
