10/10 would recommend - We had a great time on this excursion. Admittedly- it was confusing and a decent walk to find the driver. We had to stop and ask people along the way if we were going the right direction because there are no signs or anything suggesting you are going the right way. The directions take you out to the highway, which is a little odd. It would have been better if there was a representative that meets the group at the dock.
Our tour guides were Xander and Alex. They were both incredibly friendly and personable. We were transported to the falls in an air conditioned van (thank goodness). Our group was supposed to have 4 but the other 2 people didn’t show and we had a private tour instead. That was very cool!
Once at the location- we were fitted for our gear and given the opportunity to buy their photo package. I would highly recommend. We paid $45 usd for our own personal photographer that did the whole excursion with us. He took pictures and videos all along the way- both of us and the beautiful scenery. We had over 100 pics/videos on a thumb drive. Our photographer was Carlos and he was awesome. It’s very difficult to get good footage along the way- even with a go pro.
The hike itself wasn’t bad at all because of the frequent breaks. We joined with a very large group that booked the same excursion through the cruise line (carnival) and hiked with them. The guides stopped every 5-10 mins for the whole group to have a break. This made the entire trek do-able. Expect for a few minutes here and there- the entire hike is covered and shaded. You won’t need any sunscreen. We did not personally need any bug spray. I had a few bug bites but nothing bad.
Just FYI- if you book through Carnival instead of through Shore Excursions- you will not be allowed to do any of the jumps into the waterfall. This was a “must” for us and we were informed that the people who book with Carnival are not allowed to jump into any waterfalls due to liability. This was told to us by the tour guides and we also observed that the group we started with went a different way after we got to the falls and this was because they aren’t allowed to jump and the guides can’t let them.
Also- this didn’t really impact our excursion but we were unaware that the “27 pools” have mostly dried up due to lack of rain and weather and there are only 7 out of 27 waterfalls left. The excursion only involves 2-3 of those remaining.
Xander had the driver stop on our way back and gifted us freshly picked bananas. We also had rum punch for the drive home as well!
Overall 10/10. Would highly recommend booking with Shore Excursions.

Awesome. - This was a blast and unlike anything that we had ever done before. It may not be for everybody because there was a bunch of steps, as in hundreds, and one older lady went back and only went to the bottom of the falls. If you are reasonably fit it should not be a problem though. My wife said it was the best day ever!

Damagua waterfall excursion - Luis was a wonderful and attentive tour guide. This waterfall adventure is a must do. Save the high cost of carnival excursion & book this through Viator.
Just be prepared that you'll have to meet tour bus outside the port gates. I suggest you take a $2.00 taxi. Water shoes are sn absolute must.

10/10 would book again! - Xander was our guide he knew how to bring the energy! It's a little bit of a hike to get up to the slides and mnts but the guides kept us safe and gave us the motivation to keep going up the mountain. We then got to enjoy fresh local bananas, and rum punch! You can tell he cares about his country and giving back to his community. Book thru here vs cruise ship, they lied you do more.

Highly recommend - Winston and Richard were awesome! They made sure we had lots of breaks and were safe during the tour. They even went out of their way to fish out my prescription glasses I accidentally lost in the water. For those who don't want to jump, there is a sliding option. And the included rum punch was tasty! It was a fun adventure. Just be aware - there is a good amount in of hiking upward

Awesome fun, so unique! Do it! - First off: 2 tips.
1. Wear thick soled closed toed water shoes. Some people didn't and their toes and feet hurt later.
2. Get the $45 photo guy that follows u around. We split the cost among 3 little groups and got about 120 photos total and a USB drive to take home, SOOOO worth it cuz you will never be able to get these awesome shots otherwise.
3. The hike is tough! Lots of stairs, about half hour. There were people who looked like they were about to keel over making it up the many steps, so if u have bad knees or r really out of shape this may not be the thing for you.
GREAT fun! The waterfall slot canyons were so awesome and picturesque and beautiful. The water was clear and cool, and so great after the hike. They give u bottled water, grab two to help make it up the hike! The bigger falls have a slide and ladder options, so no worries if u don't want to jump or slide, but DO IT!! If I come here again I'll bring my family on this excursion, they would love it!!!

horrible service from trip advisor and vendor - horrible we never got an email from trip advisor or the vendor with information or confirmation number / we tried to contact them via email and even reset our password (we were on a criuse) and nothing / we had to book it when a vendor once we got off the ship / hours later we got a call from the local vendor asking us where we were and we explained what happened. we asked for a full refund as of now we got it
but this is unacceptable especially when you are on your honeymoon /
