We had such a blast with Country World! - We recently docked at Amber Cove in Puerto Plata while on a cruise. My husband, daughter, and I had always wanted to ride ATVs, and this seemed like a great opportunity. I reached out via email because my husband and daughter also wanted to ride horses, but I did not. Daniel got back to me quickly and helped with all the arrangements. Country World picked us up just outside the port area and drove us to their property. We started with ATVs, for which we were given a brief orientation and safety talk before heading out. We had an absolute blast, riding on dirt roads, through river beds, and even (briefly) through a local village. After we returned and had parked the ATVs, we met back at home base, which was an attractive, open-air building with restrooms, tables, and a kitchen. My husband and daughter then headed out for their horseback ride. We had paid extra for a private ride, and after observing them ride for a little while, their guide kicked it up a notch. They had a fantastic experience and couldn't wait to tell me all about it when they returned. While they were gone, I had been relaxing by the pool, so everyone was happy! We all returned to home base, changed clothes, and were served a delicious lunch along with a small glass of sour orange juice (made with fruit grown on the property). It was amazing and I wish I could have brought some home! When we had finished, we were driven back to to the the spot where we had been picked up in the morning. All in all, it was a fantastic half day and I would not hesitate to recommend Country World or to book with them again!

A Memorable Outing - We drove ourselves (just a preference). They have secure parking on the premises. The ATV part of this tour stole the show! We are a family of five and got three ATVs. All worked pretty well, one stopped a couple of times when we went through deeper waters a little too fast- this wasn’t inconvenient and it didn’t take away from the tour, it was SO MUCH FUN! There were only ten of us on this tour, plus the two guides and a photographer- 8 ATVs total- You will go through parts of a stream, a trench, on the road through a small town, etc… so cool! You will stop at a souvenir shop so if you think you’ll buy something, maybe bring a small backpack to take it back. Make sure you wear things you don’t mind getting VERY muddy. I suggest pants (or knee-high socks) and crocks, for ease of washing afterwards. Sunglasses and a bandana could be helpful. Shoutout to the best guides Cuba & Lebron who made this tour an unforgettable adventure! For the horseback riding, we think we had subs for guides 😂 There were only six of us on this tour. Without even asking if any of us had ridden before, the guides said this would be a very laid back ride. Several saddles were loose to the point the rider felt and looked like they were falling off. Guides didn’t seem to know what they were doing…. One went to help my son tighten his saddle and his own horse trotted away! We had to say repeatedly that we wanted to gallop, one of them asked me if that meant fast or slow! Yes, I speak Spanish. Yes, it’s Dominican Spanish ☺️ We eventually galloped for a couple of minutes but the tour was mostly trotting, bunched up, horses were not in the mood- they wanted to walk on the edge of the trail, by trees and branches. Needless to say, we don’t remember those guides’ names. My recommendation is for you to ask for experienced guides for both tours ahead of time! They definitely have some! Our photo guy, Frandy, did his best. Digital photo-deal can get very expensive bc price is per person. But make sure you negotiate (haggle!) with the “photo company”. Also, ask if you can see the pictures first; we didn’t and wish we had bc maybe we would’ve tried to pay even less. The food at the end was delicious and plentiful. We also had access to the pool and grounds but left bc we wanted to go to the beach. Everybody was very friendly.

A lot of fun - Well organized, friendly staff. They red ( single ones) ATV s are old , stopped all the time. The smoke from the engine are really bad. The double ones ( black) are great. Works well and feel more security. My group ( people) experienced both, over all a lot of fun. The staff was so friendly and helpful.

Some of the red ATVs were... - Some of the red ATVs were too old and have some mechanical problems, definitely need to replace them! The black ones were better and some were very new! The people are very nice and polite, food was great! I wish we could speed up a little with the ATVs and with the horses!
